Brad and Cliff great players and even better blokes! I didn't get the chance to meet Derek but sure he was just as good a fella.

Another interesting topic could be great Indigenous Captains across the comp on the General thread - Brad would be right up there!
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

Collards were instrumental in our finals run from 1988 to 1992.

Yeah good point TOO the former Gosnells boy had a great career as a running back at Freo.
Ashley Sampi, Wally Matera, Phil Matera, Clem Michael (cruelly cut short), Warren Campbell & Dean Rioli all had great careers as well.

Vasoli described Vigona something along the lines of as the modern day Shaun Burgoyne only 10 x better.

My own opinion is Stephen Michael for toughness and leadership if I could choose only one, but enjoyed watching Maurice the most out of the South indigenous players. Willie Roe another that didn't get the best out of himself

And those two would be right on the money - Benny in all honesty was easily the freakiest player I ever saw , thing with Benny was that footy was playing with his mates & living life

When Brownie shifted him to half-back Benny thrived even moreso , some of the escape acts and that loping run and the pinpoint kicking and those unbelievable dummies

Just a brilliant brilliant footy player

Probbly have to touch on older brother Sebastian here - Sibby was probably even faster by hand (if that's even remotely possible)

Sibby just couldn't handle living away from the Island & not having his Turtle meat

The early Rioli pioneer it was almost like his boot had a goal radar on it - when he got the pill near the white timber you could put your glasses down
