Funny you know 'Beas mate - I was thinking yesterday of a fella named Mike Smith #25
from the Basso Boys
In my memory he was one guy who gave Maurice a run along with maybe Peakey although Peakey wouldn't go one on one with Maurie , they usually played wide of each other

Mike Smith was a very classy skillful left foot centreman who unfortunately did his knee in 1981 he did come back to play in the 83 flag side then went to Carlton in Vic but the knee continually troubled him after the reco.

Toddy was a huge wrap for Smith, he just had some rotten luck
