Too Easy for Demons
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

We were just about gone midway through the 3rd qtr, down by 27 points but suddenly we found our run and hunger for the contest and Swans looked like they were getting tired. Felt confident at 3qtr time only a goal down but we made hard work of it dominating the first 5 minutes of the last qtr for 4 behinds and one on the full then predictably Swans seized their opportunity and kicked a goal.

But the boys never stopped believing and were full of run led by the ageless Clint Jones who could quite easily have dropped his head after a few bad turnovers that cost us in the first half but Jonesy probably ended up BOG for mine. Gutsy team effort, well done boys enjoy it and prepare well and get ready to take on Subi next week. Can't wait for that one.

I see Jones had 42 disposals....why wouldn't Pickering put a tag on him? unless he wasn't hurting Swans all that much but otherwise, he needed to be shut down big time.

Jones butchered the ball a bit in the first half when he was tagged but his second half was superb. We can thank him for his huge last quarter not only for his clearance work but for hitting up targets.
He is still one of the league's best.
Glad to be 6-2 and looking forward to a 4 quarter effort vs Subi next week.

Good to see that we could pull off a win with college out. Just got to keep working to get forward line to click so that all that Sinclair and Taylor ball isn’t wasted.

I see that we won the hitouts. We desperately need a top class ruckman but Eyresy gives his all each week and Langdon gives him good
support.

Forgot to mention there was a great crowd there today. Close to 3000 I reckon. Should be a bumper weekend for crowds in the WAFL this weekend.

Great comeback and very important to get the points. C Jones was exceptional, especially in the 3rd quarter. He led the fightback from when we were 27 down. Top games also from Taylor, Sinclair, Leggett and Edmonds. Thought Cary was better, though wasteful. That said, still a number of things to work on. We had 80 more disposals and 27 more inside 50s. Those stats should indicate a comfortable win. When Swans scored it was all too easy and they were able to take too many marks in scoring positions. We still need to find 3-4 more goals, the last 4 weeks have been between 8-11. With the reserves losing badly and only managing 5 goals, it's hard to see any change apart from Colledge and Bryan coming back in. Those guys should suit the forecast wet weather.
