I actually like the look of our side.
IMHO it may not be as much doom and gloom as some people think.
We can make a go of it if we come to play.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s game. Can’t afford to go missing for a quarter though. It’s good to have WAFL footy back.

That looks pretty close to our best squad and not knowing much about a lot of the Eagles listed players they don't look as imposing as I thought they might be. I will be disappointed if we don't open our account with a win.

When I first looked at our team a couple of hours ago, there was an extended bench which included Ninyette and Narrier. Now they seem to have dropped off. Anyone know why? Injury? Otherwise, agree it's not a bad team. I think Blake Johnston, Marlin and Scotney are a bit unlucky, but they put pressure on the players selected to perform. From the bench I'd like to see Leggett, Burke, Hill and Henderson in the 22.

I agree DD if you study the WCE team closely I am not sure there is much to afraid of.
I expect a good showing and it would be good to get a good start to the season.

We don't have a player named Johnston Ted. I assume you mean Blake Johnson.

I assume we play on our ground and not the car park.

WCE does not appear as awesome as they would have been under the East Perth alignment.
If we play to our best for 4 quarters we will give ourselves every chance.

I don't think we should worry over-much about the WCE no matter who they've got in or how strong they are. The Duke should have our guys fired up. The match will attract plenty of attention. Like our leadership group - Yeo-Jones-Sinclair-Eyres-Dennis-College. How often have we lacked on-field leadership over the years? If those guys fire, the rest will follow. Some new recruits - Bryan, Rogers, Langdon - who should be busting a gut to prove their worth. Plus, younger guys who'll be wary of Ninja and Narrier being pretty-much automatic inclusions come week 2. Plenty to play for. But at the end of the day, it's easy to get fired-up for 5 minutes. We need cool-calm heads putting their bodies between the ball and the opposition leading throughout the day.
