probably goes to show that ruckman are in short supply around the comp so best to put them on your 40 protected list up front.

We have a tendency to spend money and points on marginal players.
Usually ten pointers who play reserves.
This is not an isolated example.
We have a history of bad recruiting.

The only club to have won out of this is WP for two reasons:

they got rid of a player they did not rate
they took Perth's $5,000

For sure Ark. As you know, Bayens was actually one of our top players, one of our few state team regulars.

Southerner the likes of Rose, Hamilton, Spencer, Valli, Duda, Levitzke etc, most were serviceable but they were all past their prime with us

DG too true -- they all did their best in a difficult situation. Our best recruits were Rod Brown and Alex Hamiilton, know body else played more than two seasons for the Lions.

What confuses me about this Sutherland Issue is that a fringe reserves player leaves a team that is languishing in 2nd last position on the ladder for a team 3 games clear on the top of the ladder and overwhelming premiership favourites for "more opportunities". That makes absolutely no sense at all, assuming of course he is talking about on field opportunities.

Anyone else heard Snake has signed an extension????
