Matt Rogers has come across for Perth Footy Club to give us some real hardness and drive across half forward and also the middle of the ground. Ive always liked his approach to his football and admired his aggressive attack on the football and the player in possession of the footy. He's a real beast of an athlete and if we can raise his running capacity in the next 5 weeks, we think he can pinch hit on ball as well as provide a strong target up front. Robinson, Miles and Casserly all continue to train impressively along with Wayde Twomey who looks to have put his injury worries of 2012 behind him at this point.

Interesting read about what Mr Harding had to say about Mr Rodgers. Would not be surprised if it was a break out year for the young bloke. :woohoo:

Same here. I think he'll tear Perth a new one at the first opportunity. A real loss to the Demons.

Couldn't agree more, young Duffy already tore Damo a new one last year and Rogers and Elari will be embarrassing this club for many years to come.

haven't most opposition players done so of late?......Matty might be a double agent, sent in by Marty to do some damage at the appropiate time......like in the last minute of a close P v SD match....that oh so unfortunate turnover in the PFC forward line gifting Perth a free kick, goal and a win over SD.....the SD boys wouldn't know what hit them!! :cheer:

Hi guys; first time poster.

I'm finding it hard to get too excited for the year ahead given the players we have lost, and the continual let down this club has been lately.

However, I think the player turnover can only be a positive. While we may mourn the loss of Young, Davis etc. the fact is that the club never achieved anything with these players suiting up week in, week out. So who is to say the loss won't be a good thing in the long run?

Here's to a good season ahead...touch wood!

Facts are Young carried our midfield for 5 years without much support(in the talent department, the support midfielders generally didnt bring much to the table) he pumped the ball forward on numerous occassions only to find the talent there was pretty weak also and watched the ball come straight back over his head and was equally effective coming out of the backline.
Ross Young was not only the best midfielder in the comp he was close to being the best player in the comp!

If the club has strengthened its rucks, midfield and key position areas forward and back(as some supporters have suggested we have) then the club will enjoy success if not then whether Ross Young is there or not the club will still languish down the bottom of the ladder.
