peel were brought in back in 1997 to supposedly enrich the wafl in that mandurah area. it has been a flop of monumental proportions. now the dockers take them over and save them, eliminating the original plan or harnessing public interest in a stand alone club in the wafl competition.

if we look back in 50 years at a wafl timeline, people with half a brain will be astonished at the complete lack of foresight by people in supposedly powerful positions. there is incompetencies everywhere you look.

as for the dockers, they should have aligned with either East or South Fremantle and allowed Peel to wither away from our minds.

thanks for nothing dockers

Don't blame the Dockers, blame the WAFL or the Commission or whatever who should have relocated a club down in that district instead of starting a new team.

For mine it should have been Perth, who have been in the wilderness for ever (well a longtime), if West Perth had not moved to the outer suburbs, then they would be in a similar state to Perth now.

Yep a total disaster

lets not forget that certain WAFL clubs voted in FAVOUR of the idea and some did not - Like SFFC.

Bazza shame on you. Swans voted against the introduction of the Eagles (as did Souths) and also voted against the introduction of Peel.

its been 25 years since the eagles were formed. i don t think it matters who did and who did not vote in favour of their introduction.

any one who thinks a national comp was never going to happen, are dreaming.

A national competition: when did NT, ACT and Tasmania secede from Australia?

clutching at straws swan42.

WA is one of the 3 premier football states. you know as much as I do that we were always going to be part of an expanded vfl/afl. Was always going to happen with or without wafl clubs voting.

I desperatley miss the way wafl footy was. and it hurts seeing it like it is. i know how you feel . Im just saying right now bringing up this debate is pointless. we can only focus on what we have in front of us now. That thing being a freight train but we must still deal with it.
