Agree Grump, the gun recruits, rack up the numbers, on the outside like most of the mids.
Arbon gets it a lot, not very damaging with his kicks, just does the dinky 20m kicks on a 45, then gets it back. He’s bit of a ball magnet at the moment like Dobbo.

one time only wrote: He would have to be very close. 35, 39 and 39 possessions in the three matches (1 win 2 losses) isn't too shabby.

He may have to wait a little longer methinks.I suspect the following will get a game in front of him this week.Rocky, ben miller, stan wright, and dobbo.Would love to see wright get a game for his kicking and dobbo for his aggression. As barnard said after the game he is happy to play fifty players this year if players don't improve their skills. It just wasn't only our skills in defence which let us down but also how we butchered chances in the forward line. From what I have seen in only two games a few players need to give more including some who played last year otherwise they may be in the twos.

The Us and Them mentality and white anting of anyone who didn’t play colts at EP is still happening. Disgraceful and no way to build the club.

Agree with you royal 2019.Some feel that our penalty for going into the alignment was not to recruit when the penalty was having to play so many non committed.eagles.
There will be plenty of opportunity for players to get a game if they are good enough.

I won’t be negative and slam any of our players. For development of a winning future Msando, Best, M. Young, Bayok and Willcocks are players we need to get games into this year. All have outstanding qualities in my opinion. Some pace and skill that we need and toughness in Young’s case.

I just hope we can unearth a goalkicker from those players that Barney gives opportunities to in 2019.
The congestion of the modern game means scores are probably only 70% of what they were during the halcyon days of the WAFL.
But to have scored only 18 goals in 12 quarters is not going to win too many games of footy.
We haven't had a player kick two-plus goals in a match yet.
Shaq McKenzie - who looks a much-improved player - has been consistent with a goal in each game.

Dobson has dropped off this year so far, skills are way down as is his work rate. Arbon is now in front of him and it looks like the ressies coach is getting the best out of him this year. So far he is also giving chances to players like Caporn , Chrisp and Edwards who didn't really get a go last year. As far as Best goes he is miles off the pace and a long way to go yet. Arbon , Masando, Willcocks, M Young, Waite should get a crack soon. Need all of these boys playing well to keep pressure on the league guys. Good luck on Thursday Royals.

MMMM an opinion based on what, nothing methinks.

The fact is that the club is paying for something they are not getting and would be best served playing players would are not just getting numbers but are playing the the way the coach is asking, like Arbon, Young et al. Players like Wellingham and Mcginnity have come to the club and put in all over the field for the past couple of seasons, oh and they ain't colts players.

Your constant barking abt colts and white anting is just plain rubbish, simple as that but that is your opinion and in todays society your can hold it and express it but really facts a;ways help in supporting it!

Arbon , Masando, Willcocks, M Young, Waite should get a crack soon, agree they are all growing into football at an adult level Youngy is strong at the ball and man, whilst Jacob is quick and assured.. Need all of these boys playing well to keep pressure on the league guys. Good luck on Thursday Royals.

They boys are all growing into the game and whilst there is the odd falter they will be ok and are STILL the future of the club!

WCE1987 I tend to agree Best doesn’t look quite ready yet. But I’m going off my gut and having watched him in two short stints at the club. He is super fit a very good runner and nice kick. I think he will play better in the league set up. We have a handful of very slow players in the league we need some run and skill.
