Why wouldn't he go back to WP? Especially with the President saying on the back page of The West multiple times he was their main target.

would have thought that would mean they have the most spare cash to offer him, he obviously went to East Perth after the AFL for $$ so would think he would be after the best deal.

I thought Claremont despite there successes struggled financially...i could be wrong and yes Smith would certainly be after the cash!!no doubt.

i doubt Foster, Medhurst, Schammer, Crawford, Richardson, Andrews, Jones were all playing for peanuts so Claremont must have some cash to throw around next year
