Both sides in desperate need of four points here....tho with the state game next week, not sure what if any momentum will be gained for either club TBH....be interesting to see if Monaghan rewards a few boys from the reserves for their strong start to the season...two easy wins v Peel and SF, backing up two last kick losses to very good sides in Cl and Subi....Anthony, Jackson, Watson, Harrold, Adamini in the mix perhaps for a league game v WP....Will Kommer be rushed back after 1 game of reserves footy?...or will he not be risked till after the state bye?....I see Griffen and O'Reilly are listed as for tests this weekend too......not sure if Bailey and Cuneo are available after missing the derby.....sounds like Bray will miss through concussion as well.....

colts will look forward to getting a few back after those two SA U/18 games....Curley been listed as a quad 2-3 weeks since round 1.....and still listed as 2-3 weeks....Brandon Walker also back after his Aust u/17 commitments v NZ last weekend too...

Surely we will see some new faces in the league side to host Joondalup. Dion Anthony, Matthew Burton, Leon Pearton, Nic Watson, Zac Jackson, Tom Marshall, Tom Daly and Cory Robinson have put their hand up with great form in the Ressies. All impressed in the big wins over Peel and then South. So dominant they were on Saturday Souths 2nd goal did not come until time on of the last quarter.

The main task is to improve our midfield performance. Milan Murdoch has justified his inclusion. With Jansen, Eardley, Boekhurst and Bennett will have to work hard to get their hands on the pill. Both Schofield and Manning could provide support and were excellent the weekend prior to the derby.

Cameron Loersch was a late out last Saturday. Not sure why. Hopefully he is availablen. Jack Perham if he holds his spot along with Andrew Stokes are needed to provide focal points up front. Watson coming in would allow Strnadica to move forward.

Surely Bill won't tolerate a performance like the one V South. A head or 2 has to roll. Not sure anyone in the Reserves offers us anything drastically better but lets find out. Loersch has been no good this year anyways. Bray, Davies and Manning have been solid additions, Strnadica has been disappointing and Tassone has only just come in. Really need to see more from Schofield, Eardley, Winton, Loersch, Perham and Strnadica. Boekhorst and Kommer to get better and hopefully sooner rather than later. The weekends performance was shocking- sucked any optimism I'd had for the season- hopefully we get the real Sharks on Saturday

Interesting to read that PSA footy takes precedence over WAFL league footy......tho in all honesty after that last EF game, perhaps PSA footy for Aquinas may be better for young Jez Sharp. Not as many changes as thought Monaghan would of done.....WP boys in Keitel, Stryk and Lourey will be hard to stop TBH....not too sure where EF goals are gonna come from....but one can only hope the EF team that played Peel a fortnight back, turn up on Sat v WP.

WAFC forgot to include in the small print about league footy v PSA.
No surprises here.
Hope the half wits are reading the letters to the editor in The West over the last few days

Astro I thought the big private schools, Aquinas, Christchurch Scotch Guildford grammar and the like had a requirement when the student was admitted that school activities especially sport took precedent
over outside activities and sports. I remember when Peter Eakins, a Hale boy, joined Subi as a 17yo, he had to play with Hale ahead of subi, so missed a few games.

Same with Robert Wiley at Scotch in 1973. He could only play reserves for Perth on school holidays.

Might have been better for Wiley's coaching career if he had have honed his coaching skills with Perth during his school holidays.

Did Robbie coach?

I tipped the Sharks to win....could be the last time this year if they get belted.
