Firstly - well done, muchas gracias. John O'Sullivan being a life member of the EFFC is dead unlucky to be named an emergency - but it is a great side and obviously bloody hard to get into. I would also add premiership players Neesham & Forman both unlucky to miss out altogether on selection. I would give the 1989 Bernie Naylor Medallist Neil Lester Smith (81 games, 254 goals) the nod, ahead of Jeff Cassidy(61 games, 150 goals), to warm the bench.

Neesham is in the SD side of the 80s Ti Em. Like a few boys I didnt want to double up in teams and as he played most of his footy at SD in the 80s including 2 Premierships and a F&B.

Great job BH.....you haven't missed a beat mate....I guess Neville Fields and Mark Norsworthy could consider themselves unlucky tho.....

Only played one season but Max Johnson was a beauty too....went back to the farm sadly in 84...talented midfielder from memory....

Freeze whilst doing a bit of research for this project I noticed Norsworthy was always in Central Districts best players in the years before and after his one season at Old Easts (1981) I wonder if that says something about the strength of the WAFL compared to the SANFL at that stage or Norsworthy just never settled here. As for Nifty Nev I think he was probably past it by the time he arrived in the West 82-83 as you needed to be fit and be able to run to play on our grounds compared to the smaller, softer compact Vic grounds. Max Johnson was from Morawa way from memory had a good season in 83 where EF surprised many making the 1st Semi that year also Murray Wrensteds first season before heading back to the farm in 84.
