Yep hear what you are saying guys, just reckon in such a dismal season Brennan has been a surprising and unexpected shining light.....and the stats interestingly enough support this
The WAFL stats highlight that Cl and EF colts have played the most guys this year at 55 each and EP the only other club to have played 50 plus..... the top two teams Subi and Peel have played 42 each....some 13 less than EF, whilst Cl and EP are in the last 2 spots on the ladder, EF are sitting 3rd by % and finals bound......SD and WP have played mid 40s in their colts.....so Brennan has done quite well spreading the load, marshalling the troops and still winning one would think despite the dynamics of colts footy....
as for the 2017 premiership team Oooll..... 18 guys have stayed on at the club.....with 8 staying in the colts ....with Wilkinson, O'Reilly, Watson, Patat and Robinson playing fron that 8 on the weekend......only one U/18 rep and one U/16 rep from a combined list of 11, played for EF colts on the weekend......so Brennan has done well not having his "better credentialed" boys available.....
If I was Brennan I would be looking to be staying on to coach next year's colts boys TBH....on paper they look very promising, with 4 Under 18 State under agers and 6 Under 16 State reps from this year......my point being that Brennan has done well with using just as many, if not more players, than his senior EF colleagues this year, despite not having his best credentialed players available....surely that is a positive thing?
Addit..... EF colts played 55 players, EF reserves 61 played and EF league 42 played....LOL leading the way in all forms of players played in the WAFL.....been a nightmare of a season for unavailability....with a current unavailability list of 16, with 11 of those season ending from mid july with still over a 1/3 of the season left to play.....not an excuse for the performances delivered but definitely not pretty reading....hopefully the new coach brings better fortune on and off the playing field
