Don't want to rain on the Colts parade, but this time of year every club pushes players up into Senior footy- Peel, Swans and WP have already done that. We don't it- and never have for a while (outside of O'Reilly last year)- I'm not sure why. As a result, Colts teams this time of year are weakened- so lets not get carried away on Brennan doing a sterling job as players aren't available.

Yeah true KCEF.......never said Brennan was the messiah, just think he has done well playing 55 players so far and EF colts are still sitting in 3rd place...irrespective of what Peel, SD or WP are doing......EF league have played colts eligible boys in Scott and Bockman plus also in the reserves, whilst other colts eligible boys in Wright, Strnadica, Brown, Anderson, Patat and Sereda have played reserves so far too.....tho mainly due to injury of the senior squad.....

come finals time, I reckon the likes of missing state boys in Jackson, Rivers, Ruscoe and Sharp...plus PSA boy Murdoch and the injured Ritchie will be back to help push EF to go deep in Aug/Sept....pity EF best colt in Tom Joyce has been most of the year with an injured hip......

And many, many others could have done the same with the same 55 at their disposal. That's the point here, plenty would have lined up to the back of beyond for the East Fremantle colts gig as they were premiers last year with many staying on and a steady flow coming through.

Yep hear what you are saying guys, just reckon in such a dismal season Brennan has been a surprising and unexpected shining light.....and the stats interestingly enough support this

The WAFL stats highlight that Cl and EF colts have played the most guys this year at 55 each and EP the only other club to have played 50 plus..... the top two teams Subi and Peel have played 42 each....some 13 less than EF, whilst Cl and EP are in the last 2 spots on the ladder, EF are sitting 3rd by % and finals bound......SD and WP have played mid 40s in their colts.....so Brennan has done quite well spreading the load, marshalling the troops and still winning one would think despite the dynamics of colts footy....

as for the 2017 premiership team Oooll..... 18 guys have stayed on at the club.....with 8 staying in the colts ....with Wilkinson, O'Reilly, Watson, Patat and Robinson playing fron that 8 on the weekend......only one U/18 rep and one U/16 rep from a combined list of 11, played for EF colts on the weekend......so Brennan has done well not having his "better credentialed" boys available.....

If I was Brennan I would be looking to be staying on to coach next year's colts boys TBH....on paper they look very promising, with 4 Under 18 State under agers and 6 Under 16 State reps from this year......my point being that Brennan has done well with using just as many, if not more players, than his senior EF colleagues this year, despite not having his best credentialed players available....surely that is a positive thing?

Addit..... EF colts played 55 players, EF reserves 61 played and EF league 42 played....LOL leading the way in all forms of players played in the WAFL.....been a nightmare of a season for unavailability....with a current unavailability list of 16, with 11 of those season ending from mid july with still over a 1/3 of the season left to play.....not an excuse for the performances delivered but definitely not pretty reading....hopefully the new coach brings better fortune on and off the playing field

I have had some football dealing with Brennan. He is a very good communicator, could be just what the league team require as he is home grown and the progressing colts lads like him.

Good to hear that Astro....tho for most of us EF fans the job may be a year or two too soon for Brennan.....but hey everyone thought Wiley with all his experience was a good choice for EF a few years back......Perhaps a bit of reverse psychology may be the go here....plus a few less on the physio's table too may help as well
