Apparently Boekhorst went off the ground with a leg injury in the first quarter. And took no further part in the match. Not the best of starts for him. Hopefully the injury is not severe. Was a good effort by East Fremantle by all the reports. If they can stay relatively injury free throughout the season, they will be highly competitive. Apparently The Sharks led for most of the afternoon and only found themselves behind on the scoreboard late in the match.

pipped again in the last stanza by Peel.....disappointing to lose when your noses have been in front all day.....bugger about Boekhorst, hopefully it's nothing too serious, but from the sounds of things doesn't sound promising. Fletcher with 3 goals sounded handy from all reports, still lacking another tall up front, so hopefully Loersch isn't too far away. EF did well to restrict Peels talls from doing more damage, Marsh to FB sounded like a good move from Wiley, obviously miss his midfield presence, but definitely a strong fella who could run off opposition talls and generate some rebound.

Losing all games not the ideal start, the colts struggled to beat Peel last year but went on to win the flag, so plenty of time to replicate that feat. The reserves got caned, amazed to see no ruckman in the reserves, surely our ruck stocks aren't depleted all ready? Strnadica from the sounds of things had a field day v Rodgers who stands at 192/3 cm.....pity Luke wasn't playing for EF. Quite surprised last years colts premiership ruck Nick Watson didn't get a run in the reserves, more so because EF had no reserves ruck.....the colts had something like 6 guys over 194cm playing in their game......the reserves had none.....and Watson wasn't even rucking??

Perth next week, Wiley needs a win there.....but Boekhorst a definite out, Schofield reported, LA, Snadden and Loersch MIA......gonna be interesting how EF go.....would love for the side to build from that performance v Peel....don't think too many sides will get as close as EF did today.....but once again Shepherd the "master" coach gets them the four points....LOL

I was cheering for EF in the last when I heard they were up by a few but over run by an AFL line up naturally. Any news on Boekhurst yet ? That would be tragic if serious.

The Dockers had use of a strong south south westly in the last quarter and from memory outscored us 5 goals to 1. One of those goals had clearly crashed into the right hand goal post but the central field umpire decided it somehow crossed the goal line before hitting the post. He could probably explain it better than me though.

Boekhurst seemed in reasonable spirits after the match so hopefully his injury is not severe. It was I thought an encouraging performance with all players except for James Bristow and Fraser Perry contributing. Jono Marsh was outstanding in defence and was well supported by Matthew Jupp and Dylan Winton. Jayden Schofield racked up plenty of touches off half back. Nick Kommer and George Hampson also had top games. Good support came from Cam Eardley, Dion Anthony and Jared Jansen. Sean Henson started the season where he finished last years by playing well. Big Griffin was excellent in the ruck. Sean Fletcher had a good first game for the blue and whites and will only improve. Harry Creasey also played very well as did Thomas Marshall. We need to stop kicking the ball to Thomas Marshall when he has someone 6 foot plus marking him though for obvious reasons

Cannot confirm if it is true or not but did hear a whisper yesterday that both LA and BOB have called it a day.

Thanks for the run down Ti Em...much appreciated....is Howson capable of kicking 30- 40 goals for EF....I guess Loersch would be handy u front to help.

Marsh played predominantly for Collingwood up back....he is a decent size.... wouldn't surprise me if both BOB and LA call it quits....both their bodies seem more knackered than not
