Toughest of all the assignments the club could of got to start the 2018 season.....hearing a number of ins and outs for Freo after their Port debacle......plus with Freo playing the next day and the new rule of 4 emergencies being named be interesting to see who fronts up Freo wise for Peel.

On the surface EF have had a disappointing preseason.....over run and over pressured by WP and Subi for big defeats.....practice or not, not what the fans want to see.....can pretend it's a clean slate and the business begin now.....just want a competitive EF side, who can build on how they finished last season and the recruiting they have done over the summer. Of all the recruits ,I hear Loersch is still not right.....pity that considering Peel's tall brigade.....can see all of Snadden, Griffen, Jansen, Boekhorst and Kommer playing first up...on paper looks good.....but when do paper sides win you games.....be interested who Wiley plays up front, so far not many goals have been kicked in the scratchies.....does Hampson play as a target with Howson, O'Reilly Bristow and Perham around him?....who knows.....up back obviously Winton and Jupp will get the tall Peel forwards....with Bailey and perhaps Chris Scott from the colts coming up as tall support......

Reserves will have a mixture of premiership colts boys and familiar names in Cronan, McCarrey, Cuneo, Kalazjich etc......the colts I hear look good with a a number of those 7 boys who made the state u/16's winning team last year, coming in. Luke Jackson is 197cm ruck with a great leap...also a state basketballer too, Sharp is a classy mid who was a state u/16 VC last year, whilst Ruscoe and Rivers are 194cm 16/17 yr olds who hopefuly will get their chance....strong chance to go back to back.....though colts footy is always unpredictable.

Can not see O'Reilly or Scott playing in the league side Friday but can see both Josh Cuneo and Lachlan Bailey getting a run. The likes of Sean Henson, Corey Holmes and Jesse Wynne also made strong claims on playing the first game of the season in the senior's with solid games on the weekend gone. Another player who impressed in the 2's against Subiaco was Hamish Rodgers.

I would be inclined to play Jack Perham at full forward the more mobile Alex Howson at CHF with Georgie floating around between them in the forward line. The likes of Carl Green,Sean Fletcher, Jesse Wynne and Corey Holmes hopefully applying some real forward pressure.

One player who impressed at Joondalup with his hardness at the ball (and at any opposition player in the way) was James Bristow. I would expect he would support Griffin - though Stokes did impress in the match against west Coast. Nick Kommer is another who makes his presence known too and looks a good pick up for the club.

The last 2 weeks were dire and very quickly we must improve in many areas of the game.

That listed EF side looks awfully small.....but then any side v Peel would look small.... hopefully Scott plays to lend the defence some height....looks awfully small with Khalazic and Aaron Holmes back there....

Glad there is some positive feedback, losses in all three grades not all that heartening though.

Is this the first time East Fremantle has lost to Peel in all three grades in the same round?

No - it happened last year. Positive signs for the league though against a team 3/4 from an AFL list.
