Fingers crossed 2018 won't be a repeat of 2017....saw some positives in the latter quarter of the season for EF.....more competitive performances v SF, Cl, WP, Peel and SD....could of won 4 of them TBH....obviously the colts winning puts a coat of hope for the future....but colts and seniors are two different fish ponds.....noted half of that colts premiership side are 2018 colts eligible...though O'Reilly should see more league action than colts....Quill, Nevill, Baskerville, Blurton, Scott and Stone sound like likely possibilities for league debuts in 2018....

Obviously the likes of Bailey, Burton, Holmes, Harding, Bennett, Creasey etc will build on their league debuts....if Watson has gone than a like for like replacement for him is a necessity.....hopefully Wiley and the Brennans can pull some genetic strings in finding a replacement for Watto.....obviously Henson, Crichton, Stephen and BOB are gone....reckon a few more may go to....recruiting wise I guess EF will have to push hard at any EF delisted AFL guys and non EF delisted AFL guys.

Hopefully injury wise EF get a bit more luck in 18, but every club experiences that curse.....be interested if Anthony and Macca go round again....

Lynn Medal to Watto.....Reserves medal to Harding, Colts to Scott or Quill....best first year league player to Bennett

The silver lining in the 2017 season has been the blooding of the younger guys- there's now a responsibility for them to go forward with their footy. We had a similar year in 15 only for a lot of those younger guys that played to leave or stagnate (Green, Perry, Fletcher ect).

I think with some better luck with injuries and a full season from Liam and George- we can be fighting for 4th or 5th spot. That is a fair list of players leaving- at this stage we'd only be replacing them as I can't see us recruiting 10+.

Griffin would be handy but would only have a few years left (if any at all), Ibbotson sounds like he's not playing, Jansen and Snadden (if delisted) would be handy. McInnis should be a priority and a solid replacement for Watson. But its hard to recruit quality to a team that hasn't played finals for 3 years and seems a fair way off.

Is Watsons departure definite? Ditto for Henson and BOB or are they unconfirmed rumours.

F & B for mine is Eardleys from Schofield, Jupp, Marsh and Watson.

Looking at the EF website, Crichton and BOB are off the senior list, Watto and Henson still on it, with James Bristow back on it with a few of the premiership colts boys added to it. More will be known no doubt on Lynn Medal night.....yeah could be tight between Eardley, Watto and Schofield...though Watto never missed a game thus could be the deciding factor in the end.

I have heard that James Bristow will return next season. Also if Jon Griffin is delisted by The Dockers he will be back at Moss Street. If we can keep our best players on the park, keep Watson and with guys like Marshall, Bennett, Burton, Holmes, Green, Ryan, Howson, Creasy hopefully getting more league games the Blue and Whites will certainly win more than 3 games in 2018.

If Watto goes perhaps McInnes would be a like for like replacement...though Fraser should do the noble thing and head home to Perth if delisted...though blood is thicker than water I have heard

If a basket case like Perth can attract players like Jones then you guys who look to be on the rise should be able to attract ex players to your club.

Jansen is back for you blokes a big bodied mid who will be pretty handy in the WAFL to maybe replace Jonathon Marsh who would have to be an outside chance to get redrafted?

Admittedly this is just heresay but my understanding is that Marsh is not interested in playing AFL. He just wants to play for the Old Easts. Fantastic if true. He may be temperamental but this aside he is a bloody good footballer - considering his DNA this is no surprise.

Reckon his Marsh's big brother will back for 2019... pretty sure he has one more year left at Sydney...might be a few available to come back to EF in 2019....Sandi, Paparone, Marsh, Masten, Palmer, Taylor and Griffen....
