Posted on Perthnow website about an hour ago. Would be a great outcome if the Sharks could pull this off. Undoubtedly they will face fierce competition for Mitch's signature if he decides to play.

"East Fremantle want Mitch Clark to consider returning to his original WAFL club

DALE MILLER, PerthNow

EAST Fremantle will reach out to Mitch Clark in a bid to convince him to continue playing football next year.

Clark, 29, did not nominate for last month’s AFL drafts after being delisted by Geelong.

He sold his Geelong house last month and is moving back to Western Australia with his wife and twin boys.

It’s understood Sharks coach Rob Wiley will contact the 200cm forward and offer him a place at his original WAFL club.

Drafted from East Fremantle with the 2005 No.9 pick, Clark’s 106-game AFL career also included stints at the Brisbane Lions and Melbourne.

Sharks football manager Darryn Fry said the club intended to meet Clark once he had settled in Perth.

“He’d be a pretty dominant player in the WAFL, but we have no idea what his plans are moving forward with footy,” Fry said.

The retirement of East Perth veteran Paul Johnson has left quality ruckmen in short supply in WAFL ranks, making Clark’s signature all the more attractive."

Not overly convinced Clark is interested in playing footy at all next year....at 200cm and injury free any WAFL club would be glad to have him.....EF might squeeze him in some where I guess. :P

quite surprised Mitch hasn't popped into Steel Blue, apparently the WAFL mecca, for a bit of mental health counselling and TLC....I guess the likes of Yarran and Newman don't come cheap.

At least SD are making an effort to look after the welfare of a couple of their home grown local zone lads Freeze ....im not sure the likes of Cousins, Chick, Kerr, Hay et al have had the same olive branch level of support coming from their old club!!

BH ....pretty sure most of those ex EF blokes had lengthy AFL careers and TBH were so far spoilt by their respective AFL clubs that they were past helping......as forJonathon Hay mate......pretty sure he has lengthy mental health medical records to confirm his reason for leaving footy....not too sure family reasons was one of them or could be classed a reason TBH.....poor old Hay hid his illness for his whole career......also pretty sure the Mediterranean climate out Steel Blue way is more conducive to growing olive tree's than around EF way.......though one would of thought the soil from that Moss St tip of an oval would be olive tree fertile.....apparently it is not
