Great to see a couple of EF boys in Johanninsen and Marsh playing this weekend in the GF....

tho gutting to hear that Allirr is out injured with his knee....he seems to have come on in leaps in bounds this latter part of the season.

Harry Marsh has been a steady and unobtrusive defender this latter part of the season, cementing himself in Sydney's backline without starring...great to see he has come from the rookie list too after being delisted last year from the main list.

Johanninsen has been fantastic to watch this season for WBD...he epitomises what the WBD are all about....fast and furious and takes the game on 24/7...

only 1 of these boys can win....good to luck to both and hopefully they acquit themselves well.

So much so I've gone a WB Norm Smith double on him paying a healthy $50.

good bet there Rock....

gutting for Allirr and his knee injury, whilst I have just see and that Harry Marsh has made way for Mills....unlucky for the guy, be interesting to see if he stays on Swans list now, as he was upgraded from the rookie list to cover injuries from memory....only one to watch now in Johanninsen from EF.....hope he and the WBD run the swans off their feet....big ask to close down Buddy though.

Yeah I thought the same as you freezin, my money was on Boyd too, although great to see a West Aussie and East Freo boy win it. Good football nursery there in Shark land when you consider they could have had 3 boys in the game.

Thank heavens Luke Bevridge has come along to change the game in such a positive way, other teams have already started to figure out and replicate the Doggies game style, teams like the Saints and D's will improve next year and the old style of defensive footy ala, freo & the Swans of a few years back are hopefully gone forever. The Doggies run and gun high risk high return brand of footy is exhilarating to watch, a thoroughly deserved victory for a down and dirty AFL/VFL struggler, would have all been done on a comparatively shoestring budget compared to the Collingwoods, WCE's, Freo's, Hawk's, Sydneys, Cat's, GWS & Adelaides of the footy world.

Thank you very much JJ. Agree Freeze I thought he turned over a few times and that would cost him.

Have you stopped celebrating yet?

Hang on hang on, the Hawks were in a similar position to the Bulldogs 20 yrs ago, on their knees and ready to merge, but look what happened they dug their way out like the Bullies and have been the most success Vic team since the AFL came into vogue, for that matter since 1960 VFL/AFL. The Hawks came into the VFL. the same yr as Footscray.
Maybe its a case of Footscray/WB having less nouse off the field and thus being a baskett case for the majority of its time. The media are sugar coating this as the battlers v everyone else which is rubbish as they have had as much opportunity as anyone else, including being bailed out using the WAFLs entrance fee $
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

speaking of media and fan sugar coating.....amazing to think with all their injuries this year, the WBD were able to overcome all that and show the necessary passion, heart and character to win the flag....I guess battlers do that...WBD could of rolled over like some and used it as an excuse for their failures....glad to see the team fight for not only their own pride but for the fans as well... ;)
