Not sure if this has been posted prior but just read online that the Ressies will not be the curtain raiser to the league GF at Optus as its too expensive? I wonder where will they play it and when?

When the Grand Finals used to be played at Subiaco, it was ok to have the matches.
Does that mean the turf at the new oval is sub-standard and not up to the job?

How stupid is it of the WAFL to play the GF there, ffs, how dumb are these idiots,

Play it at Leederville or Freo until the WACA is ready.

Both will easily hold a sub 20,000 crowd and the atmosphere would be vastly better.

yep...very ordinary decision even for the WAFC.

I reckon if Subi and peel make the seniors and EP make the ressies we will have a bigger crowd

Different costings mate, WAFC owned Subi basically, now they must rent Optus for the day plus pay for the ficlities under write catering etc etc etc...a good reason among many not to have it there.

Why not Bassendean Oval?

Having the GF at the new ground will be a good test I suppose. With a lot of people still going baby ga ga over the place, is going to be interesting with the attendance. Obviously people have stopped going to the various clubs venues for some reason. The low attendances figures this season have shown. There will be NO excuse for a low GF attendance this year.

No problem with that as long as its not the Stadium , only issue is its hardly what you would call central compared to Leederville or even Freo, the other thing is apart from the Bassendean Hotel there is SFA around there entertainment wise for before and after the game celebrations.
