The club has lost its way with this new building and change of staff and president, we need a clean out at the top, but let’s face it the comp is farked with the domination of $cabi and this alignment bullshit, what business would want to sponsor this joke of a competition... really

The rumour is someone is fishing for the alignment.

Yep...

Bazza which club or clubs are allegedly fishing for the alignment?

Hardly surprising that a club or a few clubs would be entertaining the idea of becoming West Coasts next aligned club. Claremont, East Perth, South Fremantle and Peel have all considered that enough benefit existed to sign up to the host club agreement and other clubs had previously expressed interest in being involved.

Whilst the EP host club wasn’t successful onfield it appears to have been very successful for the club financially so a few clubs might be looking to secure their long term financial future by cozying up with WC for the next 4-5 seasons. It’s clearly been successful for Peel on and off field and Souths made the GF in ‘99.

Considering you named 4 of the 9 which other clubs allegedly were interested in an host club alignment?

What arrant nonsense to suggest it has been success it has been successful on field. Only a deluded fool could think that it was anything other than Fremantle that won the two preceding WAFL GFs.

The only nonsense is the dribble you’ve just written.

We have your opinion of the relative success or failure of the alignment at East Perth and we have Grump's opinion. I choose to believe that Grump's informed opinion is more accurate than your opinion.

Even if no one wants to align with West Coast I suspect 5 clubs at least will vote for a stand alone team.
East Perth because they want out.West Perth as they need the Wafc to sort out their financial mess.Perth who are already getting some financial assistance form west coast to use Lathlain.Subi as they will have even a better chance to win a premiership and finally Peel as they may have the dockers wanting a stand alone team.

Not sure what you're on about Swan42 as my comments aligned with the same 'informed' opinion as Grump, given that he stated the following:

"Yes the alignment has been a huge economic windfall for EP but 95% of the supporter base would trade that for not being in it. I would suggest that they may have been heart broken if the club had folded due to its financial position at the time of the decision, so it beggars the question was it a decision that had to be made and how many other clubs (honestly would have opted for it, I can think of at least two)!"

I think the $300k last year was from the AFL and my reading between the lines is that it went into the new rooms etc.
