The WA State 18s are playing their 1st game in the 2018 carnival today vs the favourites for the title SA at Alberton Oval (Port Adelaide Magpies home ground).

LOL...didn't take long for that to come out......considering the Vic teams win most years using that model BH not sure your point mate....yeah WA did well last year....but did fark all the proceeding years before that........not the start the squad wanted......good effort by EF 16yr old ruckman Luke Jackson 15 disposals and 29 hit outs.....ball magnet Luke English from PFFC had a fair few possessions.....

SA from all reports have a more than a few possible top ten draftees this year ....SA lad Lukosius had 14 marks and 4 goals from CHF....what WA could of done with a Naughton or Taylor in this years team.........can't think of one in WA current squad top 10......lots of under agers in the squad tho.....perhaps next year will be the one.....but then again the Vic model might condem WA to another failure..

can see WA U16 going back to back from all reports......

LOL would that be the same State 16s side that got beaten by nearly 100 points from a secondary Swans Colts side a fortnight back?

Heard that Micale gave all those seven state 16 SD reps a run that game wearing the black n gold.....lesson learnt me thinks...LOL

Actually there was only 1 SD boy playing for the WA 16s that day Freeze (a few of the others played for our Colts team which was mostly 16yo & 17yo's) but there were 7 EF boys playing for WA in that hiding!!!
Anyways I walked away from Basso that day thinking our 16s & 18s might be in for a tough time this year and so far I havent been mistaken.
Big game vs Vic Metro next week at Perth Stadium will give us another indication of where we sit, I wonder if the star studded SA side have taken on the Vic model or stuck fat with their own ideas to produce the goods?!

Time will tell I guess with the 16s.....as for the 18s...well one can only hope they can lift their efforts....

As long as the player first mentality was front and centre for the WA players. Of course, there will be no repercussions for those at the WAFC.

42.....considering the Vic Metro and Country teams follow this player first mentality and win every carnival practically.....not too sure what other choice WA junior set up has in search of success but to follow this blue print...it's not as though WA have been winning the bloody thing in the last 5-10 years.....last years runners up position for WA had been a one off compared to previous carnivals ...everyone raved on about Sumichs coaching expertise last year....let's see how really good he is then.......
