From reading this thread, it seems the obsession has spread wider than just Channel Basil .............

Unfortunately its a result of the small town incestuous relationship between the 7West Media who own the main outlets in the state and are also major sponsors or the eagles, so its a commercial imperative that they push each other, its free advertising for the eagles and as the biggest team in the state the 7West knows it gets suckers tuned in to watch.

I banned Ch 7 news in my house years ago and stopped buying both the west and sunday times years ago.

Yep, Im a case study of that, was a keen TVW 7 fan in the 70s and 80s , it was the go too WAFL place, not anymore.
