Harley's been at it again, Freo have fined him $20k ($5k suspended), banned him from the club and training venue, (banished to Peelmantle) and will have his playing future reviewed at the end of the ban.
Apparently out on the wooblah big time the night before training, also missed or was late to training next morning.
This guy is a sublime footballer but is a complete spud. How many chances does he expect to be given? Freo have been very patient with him while he underwent re-hab, you'd think the guy would be crossing the "T's" and dotting the "i's" so he is ready for round 1 but obviously doesn't think he needs to. I'm sure we'll get the boohoo stories of how he's struggled mentally during re-hab, but there are plenty of players who have had worse injuries and still battled tooth and nail to get back on the paddock.
So guess what ... if Freo decide to keep him and he decides to pull his head in he will spend a lot of the early part of the season playing for Peel, maybe just enough to qualify for the finals??

Cheers Anchor, wasn't aware of the other thread, either way it's sad that such a brilliant talent seems to be flushing his career away.

The challenge is now for Bennell to show Fremantle that he wants to play AFL footy, just like Michael Walters rose to the challenge when sent back to Swans a number of years back. Walters proved he was up to it and hasnt looked back since. If Bennell does not respond to this ultimatum, he will be cut at the end of 2018 which is when his contract finishes.

Yes, maybe he should get Shane Yarran as a mentor.
