I'll look for longevity of performance rather one or two seasons (otherwise Krakouer and Menegola would be my picks)
Paul Johnson
Kyal Horsley
Rory O'Brien

In terms of consistency and longevity guys like Nelson and Black from WP are stand outs...Johnson at EP was WAFL leading ruck for years....Notte at SD fantastic up n back....

To me...Menagola had one standout season for Subi....played ok at EF and Peel but nothing fantastic...Krakouer had one Krakouerjack season to lead SD to a flag.....yeah they were fantastic but one season doesn't qualify best surely.....

Depends on how you interpret AR's wording of the topic title Freeze.
The way I read it is he was asking who has been the best player in the WAFL over the last decade in which their should be no debate as Andrew Krakouer is the head and shoulders standout.
As anyone who saw all of his games in 2010 like I would testify their hasnt been anyone who has played at anywhere near that level of ability in the WAFL for a very long time (Derek Kickett-CL-1987)!
Leon Davis could have been the same if used in the midfield or up forward but as the Perth guys lament he wasnt which was unfortunate for the comp.

BH you have only highlighted "the best player in the
WAFL" bit mate and not the "over the last decade" bit ..thus my argument for the likes of consistent year in year out high quality performers in Black, Nelson and Johnson, over one off performers in Krakouer and to a lesser extent Menagola....I believe you whole heartedly Krakouer had a stand out year in 2010...his Sandover win was phenomenal.....just would of loved to of see him back it up when he got delisted by Collingwood....pity his WP career didn't eventuate...

That would be because that was how I had interpreted the topic Freeze being the BEST PLAYER IN THE WAFL over this last decade whereas you have obviously interpreted it as the longevity factor being the operative term....no biggie mate!
It is interesting to see tho some of those who have followed your line of thinking and the players they have thrown up most have never even been considered good enough to get an opportunity in the AFL whereas the likes of Krakouer, Davis et al had long distinguished careers 100+ games in the AFL!

Yeah fair enough BH, I guess Kraks 20 odd games outweigh Black, Johnson O'Brien's, Nelson's et al distinguished 100 + games in the comp OVER THE LAST DECADE...LOL.....interpretation is what it is I guess....TBH it would be very hard to pick a Subi player as they have been the best team over the last decade not reliant on one player for their success.
