This in this mornings West, deserves everything this scumbag gets for a behind the play elbow to Halligan. Lets see how long it takes Freo to start putting pressure on the tribunal to let him off or drastically reduce the penalty. Given their recent form he will not have a case to answer, but the way the article is written he looks like he's in trouble. Wonder now if Lyons thinks its a great idea to play AFL guys in the WAFL when their season has finished, I hope he gets the full 4 weeks which could turn into several more given the difference in WAFL & AFL fixtures, but don't hold your breath.

Fremantle defender Cam Sutcliffe is in danger of missing at least the first month of the 2018 AFL season over a striking report in the WAFL grand final that could attract a double penalty.
The Peel premiership player was reported for elbowing Subiaco opponent Kyle Halligan to the face about 50m off the ball just before half-time at Domain Stadium on Sunday.
The match review panel is today likely to assess the blow as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact which would normally attract a two-match ban reduced to one for an early guilty plea.
But under the WAFL grand final rules, the report is likely to draw a 100 per cent penalty loading applicable to an intentional act, meaning the base sanction could be a four-week suspension.
WAFL rule 6.12.8 says the MRP or tribunal has the right to apply “a loading of up to 100 per cent for any reportable offence committed during a grand final”.
Television cameras captured the incident and commentator Steve Butler provided a damning summary of Sutcliffe’s action.
“It was Cam Sutcliffe who went past Halligan and nailed him with a beautiful right elbow to the jaw,” Butler said on the Channel 7 broadcast.
If Sutcliffe was suspended, he would be ineligible for Fremantle until any WAFL ban was completed. The fixtures for both leagues have not been finalised, but the reduction of the WAFL season to just 18 matches means it may not start for several weeks after the AFL gets under way. And should Peel have an early bye, a guilty finding means that Sutcliffe might not be available for the Dockers until May. Sutcliffe, 25, has played 100 games for Fremantle in the past six seasons. He played 13 AFL matches this season after playing 19 the previous season and 21 in 2015.

SS...I can absolutely guarantee the MRP won't apply the 100% loading meaning he'll just get a week with a guilty plea. They'll see that as a compromise of penalising the act to placate the WAFL whilst not banning him for an extended period which would piss the Dorks off.

Be lucky to be referred to the tribunal imo... Freo will put the clamps on the WAFC and bob's your uncle downgraded to a one week , downgraded to reprimand based on an early guilty plea...

2 ways to look at this. The common sense way - assess the severity of the act or the WAFC way and that is to assess the possible severity of the suspension. Oh and of course, which team(s) the offender comes from - that's the important bit for them.

There is no doubt that the AFL listed players are treated differently.
It happens every week during games with the softest free kicks given to them and kicks given away overlooked with a play on call.
I didn't see the incident but if it was off the ball and an elbow he should get 4 weeks anyway.
Despite the possible 100% loading.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

After playing 13 AFL games this year the mongrel shouldn't even have been playing let alone throwing elbows off the ball.

When looking at these things.TC takes out DS from Gws and changes the whole game.It looks like TC has his eyes on the football and not the man.But makes head high contact, apart from GF week it's an easy 2 game suspension.
Now here where talking about an elbow in the head behind the play.Has that hit had an impact on the result of the game.Surprised by the accused player.Like Demons Forever is has to be a 4 week suspension.

Sutcliffe just found guilty and given a reprimand. Says a lot about the WAFC.
