When I heard about this I thought somebody was taking the piss.

Seriously can someone tell me what achievements warrant this award. I have brainstormed a few.

Finished third, lost 8 games with an average of 11 AFL players in his team.

0 players in the Sandover top 10

1 Player in the WAFL team of the year. ( A Docker)

1 Player in the state team.

5 straight finals wins of which three quarters of the team have not trained with him ever during the home and away season, not once, Zilch

Surely I am a chance at winning this next year.

Oh ..and sorry for calling you Shirley.

Yep unfoookingbelievable decision...can only guess he was rewarded for taking slops. How Schofield, Curley and even possibly Harding for lifting SD back off their knees did not win this is beyond comprehension. Biggest piss take you can imagine and I believe there is some method to the madness....a further attempt to infuriate the remaining WAFL diehards and have them submit in the stance against stand alone teams...another stinking FART in the face of WA footy and everything it has ever represented.

Spot on DW, my tip would have been Stiffy for dragging a bustedarse team from the bottom to winning a final in the space of 12 months, that achievement far exceeds Cam the puppets effort of their meteoric rise of 4th with a Freo enhanced flag to 3rd with another Freo enhanced flag on the horizon.

Spot on DW and its working. Anotherr ridiculous insult to the traditional supporter. We'll all be gone soon and the AFLWA can have their sterile colts progression comp or whatever they want

Methinks someone is taking the mickey. I know that Subiaco supporters have been bemoaning their shocking run of injuries all this year so it obviously would have been ridiculous to choose the Subi coach as coach of the year. After all he did lose the first game of the season.

Souths have been solid all year and finished a significant number of games in front of Peelmantle but lost a game against Swans so that would have ruled him ineligible to win coach of the year also.

Is the WAFC trying to prove that are more inept than the ARU?

Considering he coached a WA senior side to our first ever win on Victorian soil I would have thought Michael Broadbridge would have been a monty to win this award in 2017!
