I have it on very good authority that the WAFL/WAFC are disbanding the Reserves competition next year.

League squad sizes will no doubt be increased to cover injuries.

This will mean a lot of players to come back to Amateurs and country leagues.
It also means one third less umpires required each week.

A big jump from colts to league for players and umpires to make!!

Not discounting others views, but I would have thought the reserves is fairly safe.
However the shit we've witnessed the past several years and nothing would be a surprise anymore! The 7 Wafl clubs do need to make sure the colts are not lost!

LaH when will the colts play given that the league games will be around 2.15 pm and there will be a women's match played at the time the ressies would normally play? The report STATED UNAMBIGUOUSLY that the colts would be moved from their current time slot.

Pretty sure a lot of Colts players and their families would love to start their weekends a bit later than what they do now....be interested to see if the reserves get shunted to 0900 and how many players stick around for that.

You do realise that has been the case for 50 years or so Freeze that is the Colts kicking off at 9-9.30am?!
Why has it now suddenly become such a chore?

I think you will find a lot of double header / triple header colts fixtures in the coming years , as Grassy has hinted it does make it easier on the AFL Scouts to watch the games.

Freezin can be the contact point for parent request for game starting times next year, he seems to have a good handle on the colts comp.

If someone could identify an actual problem with the current set up then maybe we could look at how a later start for colts games would fix it.

yes, according to the WAFC the year after we had 6 kids drafted in the top 30 of the draft including 2 in the top 10 there are apparently issues with how the WAFL clubs are developing talent..

it must be the time they play at.

Plus 3 Rookies and 2 other category rookies.
Draftees spread across 7 of the WAFL clubs.
