I am absolutely staggered at the criticism of Percy Johnson on here.
This is a man in his mid 80s who still makes the effort to get down to Basso and make a contribution to WAFL & WA footy something he has done for probably 80 years (that is nearly double my lifetime) in one form or another and is determined to pass his vast football/ruck knowledge onto the kids of today.
Over 200 games as a WAFL/WA player, coached at all 3 levels of WAFL footy & many more at junior & school level, not too mention decades as a leading commentator on TV & radio where he formed the greatest calling partnership in history with his great mate the late Frank Sparrow.
He even still trains a couple of horses in his spare time where he has had a bit of success over a long period of time.
I bet his 2 critics on here never even got past auskick level where it becomes a contact sport!

I never criticised his effort or knowledge, I am of a similar vintage. As usual on here comprehension skills are limited. I mentioned his behaviour at matches and carrying on like a pork chop over quite clear umpiring decisions. His use in the modern football world you can debate as much as you like. Personally I think his energy maybe of more value than his football impact. I think his price is right and they don't have the heart to get rid of him.

once again I ask you to go to a Swans training session or a swans huddle during breaks and listen to what he says to players.

until then you have no idea of his impact so best to accept you don't know.

Embarrassing carry on for a bloke his age, It made me cringe. He was being laughed at by many people, I felt sad I must admit. I'm glad he is well looked after at Swans, the elderly deserve a fair go in this country.

probably says more about you and the people around you that you laugh at someone who is 84 this year has been a player, coach volunteer at WAFL, school and community level for over 60 years.

he is a volunteer at Swans, he doesnt ask for anything and he couldnt give two hoots what you or your friends think, he is more worried about the development of young footballers to worry about people who do nothing..

Your comprehension is poor I did not laugh at him. Just observed I don't know how this reflects negatively on me. And how others react to poor behaviour is their prerogative.

You guys are very thin skinned, when your my age you will work out everyone is entitled to an opinion. I think your actually Claremont supporters pretending to be Swannies for street credibility.
