Can we come up with some promotional ideas over the next few weeks and send off the best five to the WAFL clubs.

Let's say that the West Perth multi-cultural day is a gimme and should be emulated by some of the other clubs- that's one idea.

We need some more.

Each club has 10 home games. If half of those can be turned into events of some kind then we are going to obtain success much more easily.

Subi had the bring your dog along day - was it last year?

I'm sure our combined 290+ OzFooty minds can come up with some better ideas than that.

Well Subiaco are having a 1973 premiership reunion this season(40 years)
and we at the past players are having 1 or 2 mini reunions for old Subi
supporters and ex members, and thats looking good at this point of time.

Often thought the clubs could take their legend's days further by putting club legend's names on the backs of a current player's jumper. Or before or at half time of a night game using the wall of the Loftus Rec Centre for example as a screen to show highlights of great or historic games. Clubs could have an open sponsors game day with their sponsors names all over walls, goal posts, flag poles, everywhere outside the norm handing out sponsors packs with all kinds of offers, discounts and gifts. You could win a set of your clubs personalised car licence plates if you bring 5 friends to a designated game. Probably off the mark but just thinking.

Yes! I like it. Turn legends day into an event. Send a ready made "feature" to The West with some of these photos of the legends that we have been digging up with a story and interview attached.

Ok, what about this.

We each play 10 home games.

Subiaco (For Example) has 7 junior clubs.

7 home games are allocated to the 7 different junior clubs - preferably not to the blockbuster games.

Let's say Carine are allocated Round 5.

On that day every Carine junior is invited to the match and is allowed to bring in 2 family members free of charge. (Hopefully a few more family members might tag along and pay)

Carine JFC could also set up an information merchandise stall in the outer.

And of course they would participate in the little league game as usual.

That idea about the junior clubs is a great idea LH.

Idea number 1) Get the WAFC to promote the WAFL, promote the game of the round, promote the finals.
Get the two AFL clubs that now are a part of the WAFL to promote the WAFL.
Let the 7 non aligned clubs sell raffle tickets at AFL games.

No need for other idea's, until this happens what clubs do will not be enough.

The 80,000 or so members of West Coast and Fremantle are nearly lost to us.

It's the other 1.81 million people in Perth that don't attend any AFL or WAFL at all that we need to target.

Including those and there are many that simply cannot afford an AFL membership ticket, the cost of beers and food etc at an AFL game.
