Claremont's premiership coach & Victorian Marc Webb has been appointed as coach of the WAFL State team for the clash with the VFL on Saturday, May 11

I dont have a problem with that. Always had a lot of respect for this guy

Fair pick, although I would have thought that the Eagles would have told the WAFC to pick the turkey that's the pseudo coach of the east eagles :whistle:
2x25= Seinor and Michael = 1xBrian Peake

Nah Lyon or Woosher should of got the job as they are the AFL coaches over here and they appear to be running the WAFL.. Would of given them a look at possible draft picks from VFL as well :blush:

And just been announced WA will attempt to snap a 22-year drought against Victoria when they clash with the Big V in Northam on May 11.
The Avon town had edged out other regional centres Kalgoorlie, Albany, Bunbury and Geraldton to host the game.
Northams ground, which boasts a new $11 million sporting facility, would be ready in time for the clash with Victoria.
Apparently it will be the first major football event at the venue.
The Black Swans last tasted success against Victoria in 1991 when a team coached by Barry Cable beat the Big V by 76 points at the WACA Ground.
The game, which starts at noon, will be telecast by ABC live into Victoria and delayed in WA.
Marc Webb, who guided Claremont to WAFL and Foxtel Cup grand final wins last year, will coach the Black Swans.

This game is going to look so embarrassing for the WAFL as this game is going back live & direct on the ABC back to Victoria & the football ground in Northam is nothing short of ordinary. Why this game couldnt be played in Perth is staggering but at the least should be played at a decent country ground & the only one's up to scratch in WA are Mandurah, Bunbury, Geraldton, North Albany or Kalgoorlie.

I cannot fathom the abc televisions delayed telecast to Western Australia?
Are we living on a different planet or something?

Can anyone else believe the WAFC's decision to play what should be a showcase of the 2nd tier of football in Australia against the VFL at that totally abysmal ground in Northam???
If these clowns at the commission dont want to play it at a WAFL venue why not then take it out to the suburbs like Gosnells Oval, John Dunn Oval, Anniversary Park etc as they are all a million times better venues than Jubilee Oval.
I am almost certain now that they do not give a flying fark about anything in WA football other then WCE & FR!

Good to see Webby get the opportunity to put himself in line for an AFL assistants job. Agree that it is strange to have the State game in the country but maybe the crowds have been disappointing recently here and they at least are trying something different. May be the only reason for me to travel to Northam!
