After today's round of fixtures there is only a two game gap between 2nd and 7th. If you assume that Claremont are going to be minor premiers and Peel and South Fremantle are not in the running that leaves 6 teams battling for 3 spots.

Next week we have those 6 teams playing off in a mouth watering series of games. First there is West Perth visiting Shark Park, a venue where they have already won this year. East Fremantle got back on the winners list today, but they would no doubt be a bit nervous about West Perth who scored heavily against them last time. The Falcons showed a lot of courage under adversity today and they can really get a foothold in 2nd spot if they can win this game.

Subiaco will be going for their 4th win in a row when they play Swans for the 2nd time in 3 weeks at Leederville. They would be chock a block full of confidence from having been the only team to beat the Tigers and will try and shut down Swans running game like they did at Bassendean a few weeks back. Swans on the other hand are coming off a last minute win at Lathlain and would see this game as an opportunity to avenge their last home defeat.

Perth and East Perth should also be a fascinating contest. The Demons would have rued the loss to Swans as they appeared to be the better team all day and will not want to drop another one at home. However, East Perth are gradually building momentum and if they can win this game they could potentially emerge as the main challenger to Claremont.

All in all a fascinating round of footy next week which could either sort out a few positions on the ladder or more likely confuse the issue even further!

Great summary, I would like to see WP over EF, SD over S, and P over EP.

Seems like forever to wait.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Agree with your tips Time for Flag. They are winners I would like to see but the way it is going all results could be reversed from your tips.

Yes it certainly will be an important round. Being halfway through the season and one would think Claremont and West Perth are entrenched at the top of the league ladder? Claremont (playing at home) would be favoured to account for the aligned team. The East Fremantle/ West Perth match should be the match of the day and really important for both clubs. If Ames is back in the Swans side, I'll lean towards them knocking Subiaco off because they are knocking on the door and only 1 game away from the top 4. Perth are travelling along quite well and should win at home. The games they have lost so far, have been by small margins only and that's the sign of a good club. And South Fremantle having the bye. It's going to be a ripper of a round.
