Nominations fellas please!

Rod Wheatley (EP) sticks in my head for some reason. The budgie from EF. Peter Thorne from CL days - was he number 2? And I reckon Neil Taylor from SUBI was number 2 as well. How about a Wayne Otway from EP - he was 2 wasn't he? Alexander was a 2 from EF.

You blokes will have heaps more.

My footy observation started in 1981 as a 7yr old so can't comment pre then.

1. Leon Baker SD
2. Leon Baker SD
3. Leon Baker SD

Am I making myself clear?

Honourable mentions to Wiley, Thorne, Otway, Mildenhall if was a number 2 and Gordon Purvis at amateur level playing for Basso who was as slick an amateur footballer you could wish to see. Ron 'you cant give teams a 10 goal start' Alexander misses my list just for making that statement after the 84 GF...no fkn shit Ron, why didn't u do something about it  I recall a number 2 from Claremont giving me the shits a few years back but can't recall said players name

According to the budgets above he was no 1... 1966 or did he change jumpers?

Another year of no 2.. Doing it the slack way and just taking off the budgets..

1974

EF A Buhagiar
WP Mel Whinnen
P R Wiley
SF S Rioli
Sub L Page
Couldnt find a no 2 in League in that year. T Douglas was no 2 in Reserves
in 1973 it was P Mountain

Mine are:

3. Mel Whinnen
2. Rob Wiley & Barry Cable (could not decide which Demons champion to omit)
1. Leon Baker

Really though I couldn't split any of them entirely as each of them was brilliant in their own right

going by Doggies criteria than Cable is a shoe in.....Whinnen at 2 and being biased Buhagiar comes in at 3.....though Wiley was a champ too and Big Ron was a huge personality with success on and off the footy field in both the WAFL and VFL when both comps were at their peaks.....

Well the votes are in and doggie has made the tough decision of . . . . ???

3rd best WAFL player wearing number 2 is . . .

Whinnen (WP)

2nd best WAFL player wearing number 2 is . . . .

Wiley (PTH)

And the best player wearing the number 2 is . . .

Barry Cable (PTH)

Awesome 3 players here to list - have done it all in football. Hard to leave out Leon Baker but longevity of the other 3 just pipped him - I'm sure some will disagree.

Time for the best number 3 now!!

Get thinking and posting.
