go to View my Profile, click on the Subscriptions tab, tick the All box then down the bottom choose Unsubscribe and Go. That will unsubscribe you from all those topics. You will have a history of Sunbscribed topics you just need to keep unsubscribing.

Then choose Edit my profile and choose the Forum Settings tab and set Subscription default to No.

I recently disabled subscriptions to alleviate this problem. There are a few problems that have crept in lately which seems to be related to the older version used for this site. Unfortunately not a simple thing to fix without considerable investment. I am looking at alternatives.
