Pick one was a toss up between McGrath & McCluggage so quiet happy with the ball magnet. Got five players from TAC (u18) so no "wanna go homes". Top Rookie was a surprise with Sam Draper who played soccer last year. Born in England but played for Reynella (SA Country) Is 18yo & 203cm. Obviously a project player. Of the outs thought Cooney, Gwilt & Dempsey had too many chances & wont be missed. Thought Jason Ashby might have been kept..
In all a lot of positives to look forward to.

McGluggage was touted as the top selection a few weeks out from the draft,so a good selection.
Your outs are not losses wI wouldn't think either.Been around a long time and not been out standing.Have played well but nothing to write home about.
Did Essendon trade any one in?

No. they drafted 5 kids & 1 kid in rookie draft.. Redrafted McKernan & Eades as rookies. Went for youth.

LS just curious what was your opinion of Worsfold when he was Eagles coach? IMO he's still your biggest recruit in the last 12 months. It was a tough gig that came with a lot of risks and typical of the John Worsfold courage to take it on.

It will be very interesting to see how Essendon go next year with a full squad back on deck. Worsfold is bringing credibility back to the Essendon FC, something that has been seriously lacking the last few years.

As a player he always had the desire to win & played hard. As a coach he took over an average side & left them a little worse. His record with the Eagles is 53% win rate which is on average but not brilliant. As an assistant he was a pass mark. Leaving last year out at Essendon (which was a pass mark with the cattle he had) he now starts a new era. Dons should go close to the Eight. Anything less than 12 wins has to be a disappointment.
