Can your party come up with any other question than "Prime Minister, can you please explain why the former Prime Minister lost his job?" We've moved on, about time your party did too and got on with the job of PROVING it is capable of governing and managing a vibrant economy and that doesn't mean going on a debt fueled spending spree.

DD, as much as I would love to see the Libs win, and keep Shorten and his leftwing nuts out, I think you are seriously misreading the situation, the results since SCMO took over have been catastrophic, to go from 2PP to 10PP and lose blue ribbon liberal seats for the first time in 100 years is shocking.
Turnbull was far more popular than both SC MO and Shorten as preferred leader as well.

Well unfortunately you could be right because in this PC/ #MeToo/ Gender equality world we live in today the masses are probably willing to put the blindfold on and forget about Labors appalling track record last time they were in power and the fact a grubby little worm is their leader who was instrumental in knifing two Prime Ministers and is a grubby little union man through and through who will ruin our economy, put the people smugglers back into business, screw self funded retirees, and blow the budget out of the water with cheap gimmick giveaways like they did before, all because they want to punish the hard line Libs for dumping Turnbull and not putting a woman in his place.

And Julie Bishop is a selfish little twat who never fought for WA over GST like Scott Morrison did and is displaying sour grapes and cashing in on using the gender equality card by saying she didn't get a look in as new leader because she's a woman. Give me a break, the woman hasn't got half the ability of Scott Morrison to run an economy. This is the woman who as shadow treasurer stumbled when asked if she knew what the reserve cash rate was with something like " I'm not exactly sure I think it's about **%?". FMD and she wanted to be Prime Minister. :woohoo:

Great post DD.J Bishop didn't wave a feather in the fight for Wa GST.And only last week the GST comissioner tried to screw another 200 million out of Wa.To SCOMo's credit he said no.$0.75 is the base cap.More money was heading to Victoria.

Messrs Cormann, Porter, Wyatt (Liberal Party), Hastie, Irons et al - what did they do about WA's GT share?

It's pre season Swannie if you want to brag about being April premiers you go girl. Why should the Prime Minister call an early election? What are you worried about? You are not worried about the next budget and numbers that come in before the next election are you?

Would you be worried Australians might ask themselves if things are ticking over nicely and Scott Morrison seems like a decent bloke without any blood on his hands like so many others including the leader of the opposition, then why change government?

DD , mate you need to get out more, the electorate is waiting with cricket bats to belt the libs...

Btw Newspoll is one of the most accurate polls in the world..no real comparison to US and non compulsory voting.

To be fair Bishop was involved in the negations that brought about a resolution, it didn't happen over night , its been a lot of lobbying from all the other wa senators, I think if anyone Josh Fredenburg has done most of the work.

As far as I'm concerned, when the new GST distribution model kicks in and state debt starts to get paid down and becomes a distant memory, I think a statue to Colin Barnett should be erected at the new stadium. After all, it was his government that built the thing plus Yagan Square, Perth Gateway, City Link, the kids hospital, Elizabeth Quay and so on. Love him or hate him, he actually got stuff done.

don't forget that she only went to Canberra in the first place because the parliamentary liberal party in WA would not have her as leader.

BC he certainly did: he lost our triple A credit rating during a mining boom. There was going to be a new stadium: Barnett chose to ignore the report as to the best location for the new stadium. And to preempt your and/or BH's comment the person who produced the report was a former Under-Treasurer and by no means a Labor stooge and to paraphrase Wally Foreman the cost at the time of the production of the report was going to cost an additional $200 million dollars for the footings if the stadium was to be built at its current location.

How anachronistic is the naming of Elizabeth Quay? During Barnett's government's commitment to developing Perth's rail network?

And without be unduly pedantic there has not been a change to the GST distribution. Was Barnett part of the government of the day that signed on for the GST?

The new Children's hospital: maybe wait 10-15 years to see if his decision to not put in an additional floor was typical of his lac of vision.

I would erect that giant statue of Colin Barnett at Faulkner Park in the City of Belmont BC!
Those accomplishments you have listed will go down in WA history as icons of our great state and we should be forever grateful regardless of one's political persuasion!

With the greatest respect I suggest you wait 10-15 years to see whether Barnett's refusal to add an extra floor to the PCH was a correct decision. My opinion it won't be seen to be a good decision.

Also,it is an absolute disgrace to mention Emperor Barnett's name in the same breath as Ruth Faulkner.
