Sounds like you are trying to deflect Perth's poor form for the last seven weeks on souths poor recent form.Perth won the first five games of the year and only 2 of the last 7.souths have won 4 of the last 7 but lost the last 3.Souths three losses have been against decent teams while perth have only beaten Swans and East Perth lately. Both are not in form but perth can still make the five due to other teams poor form at the start of the year.No point in making the five really. If any team makes the five you would want them to be in form in the back end of the season and not front runners at the start.

Happy to debate the issue but don’t really take ep supporters too seriously tho. Give it say 30 years without you standing idly by while your club sells out and maybe...

East Perth a slim possibility while East Fremantle & Swan Districts look too far away
The top 5 final placements are far from being settled apart from Subiaco
Leederville,Claremont,Fremantle,Lathlain and either Darwin or Albany
next couple of games large
and percentages

I think the top part of the league ladder is set. Just remains to see the order they fall into. I can see Subiaco, Claremont and Souths finishing in that order. Then not sure the order for West Perth and Perth. The Demons have lost 5 matches in the last 8 weeks by significant margins which must be of concern to the coaching staff. Whereas during the same time frame, West Perth have lost two matches.
Which all makes for an interesting fixture this week with Perth battling South Fremantle. Subiaco taking on Claremont will also be another match of great interst.

all of this week's matches carry an impact in positions of the ladder and a couple decide who stays in the race
Claremont will have to beat Subiaco at some point if they're serious and then the next four sides have important ones here
and there's a fight to get away from the bottom in one too

On current form my boys are doing really well and look likely to push for a spot from 5th to 3rd if we can beat South, CL, Eagles ect. We can't afford too many more losses due to our poor start but if we drop one against an EP or EF, we don't deserve to play Finals.

If West Perth beat West Coast tomorrow, the gap between 5th and 6th will be 2 games plus percentage with 5 rounds left. My bet is that the top 5 will be pretty much done and dusted if this happens. Would be good to have a finals series with neither of the AFL affliates involved.

Mike, it's an interesting finish to the year. I think Peel are done unless they get an influx of Dockers. WC seem to be surging and have a good run home, with games against EP, SD and EF left to come. WP, conversely, play C, S and SF. Like you, I would hate to see WC make it but they could win 4-5 of their last 6 which might be enough to sneak in. SF should be ok because their percentage is good, but they would want to win at least two to make sure. Likewise, P may scrape in with one win, but really at least a couple.
