AFl have been doing the same thing for years in terms of rewarding mediocrity so I will not criticise the Commission on the final five; the five is a raffle because the competition is quite close. There is no way Perth are safe as they have to play S, SF, PA (2) and WP, CL plus, they have to beat some of the lowly sides whom they have struggled to beat.

It will come down to the two games against PA, if they are lost the mighty Demons will be one game ahead of them on the ladder. In this situation they, will in all likelihood, be relying on the following to make the five:

wins against EP, WC and Old Easts.

Bear in mind too, that PA has a very good draw including playing SD twice and no Subi

In relation to WP, they are on four wins, and looking at their future fixtures they could quite easily get to nine wins with out beating South, Subi or Claremont. Guess what? One of those wins would be against the PFC.

Whilst the Royals cannot make the top group we have won more games thus far than many in the club thought we would win for the season.

The win against Swans and WCE were not expected whilst the win against WP was a bit like the Dorkers beating the WCE, got up for the game through tradition and the old enemy.

I am pleased with the effort, the commitment and path forward. I reckon we can win a couple more but that is abt it said the fat lady!

Good luck to Souths, the Tiggers, WP and Perth who I think can move up, Perth got a little ahead of themselves but watching them I think they can go again! Swans and WP along with Old Easts just have to make more of their opportunities.

Subi are going well but I keep seeing the results and wonder but that is just my view.

It just seems that there have been games where the $ubi of last seasons would have done more, it isn't a biggy but there seems to me that same approach isn't there! The new coach maybe taking a while to get his plan in place. You are winning and doing it well but I just wonder sometimes whether you can keep the same steely approach throughout the season!

I wonder that also Grump. There's been a few games where we struggled and it was the class of Horsley, Kitchin, the now departed Deluca and our back 6 that got us over the line. Come the pointy end, we could be vulnerable if that same application to team values and strength of purpose from last year isn't maintained.

BC it's really only the last 2 games were we have put in a solid 4 qtr effort against Peelmantle and the D's, we will have to do that again against the doggies to get over them.
i think the team has taken time to get to their best form after such a stellar season in '18, how to you improve on that and also settle in with a new coach so I'm expecting a better second half of the season if we can keep our best group on the paddock. IMHO top 5 will be Subi, Souths, Claremont Perth and Joondy by a whisker from the Gummies. Expect EF to have a very solid second half of the season.

Agree, pretty much the season defining game for SD but with a decent percentage win this and they stay in the hunt.

I'm not convinced that C are a genuine contender just yet. For me it's $ and SF and then a fair gap to the rest.

Claremont will win it this year, South will drop off and $ubi pipped in the GF.

SF and Claremont have not played each other yet so 3rd spot might still be a possibility for Perth or even WP.

S, SF & C will be top 3 then its a big drop away to the rest.. 4th & 5th spots will be a raffle as all the other teams are ordinary.
.

Perth have beaten South and Claremont I will have you know. It's bloody 4 cents in the $ WP and Junk yard Park EF that we lost to.

More like Zero cents in the $. At Westa Perth you can SAVA D MONEY!!

You blokes can continue to pull the piss just like we have over Perth for the past 15 years :)

one sided results see the top 5 tightening a bit and a couple of teams outside the 5 got flogged
the top 6 might have emerged but importantly the fixturing shambles is yet to take full effect
