The Uppers Best and Fairest award the Leo Graham medal was held through the week, and ex East Perth footballer Daniel Mcaullay (Wagin) was the winner by two votes over Jaxon Ramsey from Wickepin.

Mcaullay was in his 2nd season for Wagin after playing in Kalgoorlie after finishing at East Perth.Ramsey is a Borden boy, who played at Wagin when still at school, then had a crack at Perth before joining Wickepin last year

Not sure but did not finish in the Top 10 if I recall from the list I saw on WA Footy forum page

Kukerin/Dumbleyung after a slow start hit there straps and are playing there best footy now, and are the only side to topple Narrogin albeit in the wet. On Sunday in the First Semi, they meet Boddington who are back on track after a horror season last year. The following week Narrogin take on Wickepin who have been solid al year before losing to Kukerin Dumbleyung in the last round. Narrogin shook off Wickepin to win last time they met, and on form are only 2 wins away from breaking a Premiership drought. They are the best team, the only chink is they have a couple of loose cannons,who can upset the rhthymn of the team,but I doubt enough to lose them a match

Well at half time all going to plan 29 points up, had stifled Wickepins run and the game looking almost over, Narrogin looked like going straight to the GF. But after half time Wickepin took control of the ball and slowly started to bridge the gap, and by 3/4 time were within a goal, with Narrogin struggling to score, and star Full Forward Mark Deaves off with what appeared to be a heavy cork, after kicking 5 goals in the first half.

The final quarter was nip and tuck, but Wickepin just did enough after getting to the lead to hold off Narrogin, who really went missing in the 2nd half, and will rue letting a game of such importance slip after having what appeared a match winning lead at half time.

Both sides lost players to injury, Deaves did come back on, but had no impact and looked sore, but should be right for this Sundays Preliminary Final at Narrogin against Boddington. Wickepin have a weeks break and will be hoping Luke Crouch can recover in timefrom a hamstring strain

Narrogin proved far too good for Boddington yesterday, who tried hard but were not really a match for the Hawks who started well, had the game won at half time, yet came out in the third with an undisciplined quarter of football, and gave Boddington an ever slight sniff.

Two players kicked all but one of Narrogins goals, and think that Deeves has to go back for another crack at WAFL, he is fantastic kick, but in saying that should have kick another 3 on top of his nine yesterday. One thing he needs to work on is recovery when the ball hits the deck. Again Narrogins undiscipline came to the front in the 3rd quarter, said before this is there weakness, and if they do it next week in the Grand Final, Wickepin will make them pay.

If Wickepin can stop Quentin Bolton or get him off his game, which Boddington managed to do for a quarter yesterday, then Wickepin can win. If Bolton is on song, then Narrogin will be hard to beat

Not far from Finals time and an interesting Finals series coming up.

Williams have been top most of the season, and are an experienced side if not ageing, but play smart football and punish other teams on the turnover. Ex St Kilda rookie Andreoli has been a great pick up with Winter & Panizza, complementing the veterans Price, Walters, Woods and a raft of experienced players.

Boddington look to be the main dangers and look very capable at full strength. James Depane is a good player, and along with Heywood, Guimelli & White lead a youthful side who are capable of beating anyone on their day

Wickepin are not far off the pace, but have never looked a top side through the season with the cattle they have, but it could be the matter of flicking a switch and they are a danger to all. Players such as Kayler-Thompson, Duckworth, Smith have been ok, without looking game winners this season, and would be looking to try to get a flag, which looked highly likely last year at 3/4 time before losing to Narrogin who dug deep.

Kukerin/Dumbleyung look likely to finish 4th, and on their day play great footy, but their depth is suspect, and unless support is given to Brendan Lim, Ward, Murray, they could easily go out in the first week.

Katanning & Brookton Pingelly have had their chances to make finals and improved on the season, but have been too inconsistent. Narrogin last years Premiers have been a great disappointment losing players at seasons end and injuries as this season has gone on. For such a large base, and just one team, Narrogin needs to look at its football structure, as this year is totally unacceptable.

Last and a long last is Wagin, who without recruits have been the chopping block all season, and need to start working on major improvement for 2017 now

Round 15 on the weekend did not really offer up anything new. Williams pumped a struggling Narrogin, Kukerin Dumbleyung easily beat a undermanned Wagin who will be looking forward to the last round next weekend. Boddington handled the early pressure of Katanning to win well without impressing. The boilover of the round was the inconsistent Brookton-Pingelly with an easy win over an under performing Wickepin. BP have been big improvers this season but have dropped a few games that will cost them a final berths. Wickepin have been disappointing all season, and again yesterday, and it is no given now they will get past the First Semi final.
