Gee wouldnt a win be good for players, coaches and supporters this Saturday? The season is gone but a victory would make so much difference to the feel around the place. It would be nice to walk away from Bassendean with a win which has only happened once in the past year.
This week is probably the best chance we will get against a team who seem to have lost their way a bit in a similar way to what Swans have over the last few weeks.
East Perth will also see this as a great opportunity to win their 4th game and I have great respect for their fighting qualities. SD V EP always has a bit of a derby feel to it and I am looking forward to this match up on Saturday. Weather looks a bit dicey again unfortunately.

Mike I reckon it is a drag race between a Lightburn Zeta and Messerschimbt Gogomobile (absolutely no disrespect to the Swaniies but ....).

I agree we seem to have a deep seated adversarial attitude towards each other which I reckons stems from the proximity of the zones in the metro and country areas.

I will be there and supporting the game which should see Mr Notte do his usual stuff against us, great respect for him.

Good luck and will you be in the PP at half time, I would like to meet you!

Was always an anticipated clash back in the 80s Mike and Grump have many fond memories of SD vs EP clashes at both Perth Oval and Basso back then....just a pity SD are now a mere shadow of those sides of then!

East Perth up and about is really good for the Wafl. They are the Collingwood of Wa footy. And Wa footy fans always have some gripe against the Royals.Remember the meltdowns we all had when EP had the hatrick of premierships at the start of the century .

This game most probably will determine the wooden spooner.six weeks ago east perth were on the up till a horrible injury run. the royals need to get some key players back from injury and play some decent footy on Saturday.if swans turn up and play 4 quarters it may give swans the best chance for their third win.

Almost certainly decides the wooden spoon. If Swans can scrounge up 6 goals they will win.

I didn't enjoy those 8c0's clashes against Swans as they had the wood on us;and i think John Todd had a pathological hatred towards us and he made sure SWANS were ON every time they played us. I think it all stemmed from a clash at the magnificent Perth Oval when he was coaching Old Easts when we were 5 goals down and Peter Spencer got knocked out and taken to hospital and drunk from the members grandstand was continually banging on the tin roof at the visiting coaches dugout an at one stage it looked as if TODDY wanted to shape up to him but he was restrained but we got up to win and the champ SPENCER was OK,but for a 10 year old kid it was great theatreSo TODD didn.t forget to give the Royals grandstand the reverse peace sign when SWANS kept on rolling us in the early to mid eighties as the narkle brothers
,baker and blackaby used to run riot and we even lost to them on a Monday public holiday game when we were 9 goals up at halftime!!!

Toddy wasn't that keen on West Perth either. I remember him sticking it up to the West Perth supporters one day after a narrow victory by Swans at Leederville Oval

Good to see Clarke, D.Smith & C.Garcia (League Debut) get an opportunity this week and a few other youngsters in Bain, Fullgrabbe & Bright named on an extended bench.
I see Simpson has been dropped but is not named in the Development side?

Do you know where Josh Cipro is at BH? He hasn't played for several weeks now and I noticed that he wasn't on the club injury list? I thought he added a lot to the Swans midfield early in the season
