Had your chances today, great start. Dogs down three players and a few other walking wounded for much of the second half and the 79 champs in attendance.

Great character win by the team against the odds, it could define our year and give the team great confidence going forward....

True Dwert it could define SF year, be interesting in what manner. As for EF, huge opportunity lost, another final quarter fade, think the SD game is the only game where EF has came home strong. Obviously SF were rotations short, but I guess a positive sign to be within a point at 3/4 time, tho definitely a negative to score only 2 pts against a SF side running on empty, who in turn scored 5 majors themselves.

Big games v EP and WCE coming up.....EP are playing with heart and winning games and of course EF will be the one and only game Nic Nat plays for the WCE seconds.....win those two and EF being 4/6 doesn't sound that bad....

From a confidence perspective I am sure the team will gain immensely as the win came at a cost with two of their more experienced players in Schloithe and Bewick going down early. It meant that younger midfielders in Dragovich , Florenca until concussed , Stewart who is still young in age although AFL experience , The Verrier brothers had to pitch in and do the work that was needed to be done..
The unfortunate down side is that the injuries to Schloithe and Bewick could be long term? and both might be gone for the year I hope not however that is the nature of football you can only work with what cattle you have at your disposal.

Still once they learn their trade there's some handy talent there.

Not sure if that was the case - perhaps it was in the last quarter. For 3 quarters little separated the two teams. A bit of predictability about the last quarter but still we are heading in the right direction. Reasonable crowd today too.

Ti Em, as I said, they were giving many kilo's of body mass per player and getting killed in the in and unders which lead to some cheap goals b4 tree quarter time.

If you take off three of those goals it may have given them the momentum to finish it off in the last quarter.

ef had 78 tackles to sf 64
ef had more inside 50's
watched a replay of the game last night & found too many foot skill errors around the ground hurt us big time all day
we also missed too many very gettable goals in the first 3 qts which really could of put all players in a different mind set

thats 3 games that were very winnable & let slip

Here's a thought.

Why don't they just play football the old fashion way instead of the afl bullshit?
In other words, straight down the guts, man to man, rather than a series of short kicks backwards to retain possession that ends up in a turnover.

They've got the talent for the long game and it might catch a few teams on the hop this season.
