Norwood, which uses the Paradise school as a training ground, had previously announced it wanted to help set up a football academy at the site.
But under the proposed shake-up of SANFL recruiting zones, the reigning premier could lose much of the northern hills to Sturt.
"We were still in the very early stages of the plan, but we will have to put those talks on hold until the Football Commission makes a decision," Redlegs chief executive Geoff Baynes told the Eastern Courier Messenger last week.
"Charles Campbell College sits on the boundary between our metropolitan and Hills areas, and has been the ideal location for our players to come to under our pathways program.
"But if the Hills aren't included in our zone, it's a very different scenario," he said.
