This should be an interesting one which will depend to a large extent on who suits up for WCER. We only got over them by a couple of goals last time and could possibly be missing a few including Litherland, Heal, Kennedy, Rhode and maybe Wheeler which will impact on our ruck rotations but may get Walters back in. You'd think Sutherland or Josh Chapman would get a call up to offset then loss of Wheeler. A fine day should see us kick a decent enough score to win but think it will be a reasonably close contest. Subi by 18 points.

really important for the comp that we beat this mob and push them further away from a finals berth and keep real WAFL teams in the finals, plus a WCER team with unlimited AFL players in the finals will be a farce.

I think you may be worrying unnecessarily SS. West Coast are probably going to go deep into September in the AFL so they won't be stacking their WAFL team like Peel did in 2016 and 17. The concern is when the AFL team miss out on finals which is why Peel might be more of a worry again this year if they make it.

Mike...I'm certainly not as worried about Peel this year as I was in 2016 and 2017 given eligibility rules have finally been tightened by the incompetent WAFC. At least now they can only play a maximum of 12 who must have qualified by playing 5 games through the season with at least 3 of those after June 30. As SS says, WCER is another kettle of fish with no such restrictions if their AFL side is playing finals. If they get a healthy list at senior level for the back end of the season, that could play havoc for WAFL teams in the finals. In saying that, if West Coast aren't playing a finals game on the same weekend WCER are, then I'm not sure if the eligibility rules kick in or not.

Yes now that you put it that way I can understand the point. If the WAFL and AFL teams are playing on the same weekend, the Eagles may hold out some extra players as emergencies, particularly if they are playing interstate. That may dilute the strength of the WAFL team somewhat. But as a WAFL fan I would ideally see the top five as Subiaco, Claremont, South, Perth and West Perth.

I just found this in the WAFC Rule and Regs. Apparently WCER can play up to 17 players if their seniors are not involved in finals on the same weekend but they must be qualified, ie. played at least 5 games in the WAFL with 3 of those after 30 June 30. They can also play up to 3 Category B players such as Next Generation as well. If WCE are playing AFL finals on the same weekend then they can play whomever they like in WCER for the WAFL finals.

An AFL Player may play in the WAFL Finals where:
i. his AFL Club is not participating in the AFL Finals match on the same weekend as his WAFL Stand-Alone Club; and
a. the player must have played a minimum of five (5) WAFL League matches; and
b. the player has played three (3) of the clubs last eight (8) WAFL League home and away matches; and
c. the number of qualified AFL players eligible to play does not exceed seventeen (17) AFL players; plus
d. additionally, a maximum of three (3) Category B Rookie players which include NGA players, international players or 3-year non-AFL registered players;
(i) for the avoidance of doubt and in accordance with (d), a maximum of one (1) of the three (3) additional players being a Next Generation Academy (NGA) player;
ii. or where:
a. his AFL Club is still in the AFL Finals and playing on the same weekend then (i) does not apply.

BC as you have been kind enough to offer some advice on how PFC might beat Claremont I thought i’d return the favour.

In order for subi to beat wcer, or any other team, it is vital that at least 20 of their selected players know where the game is being played and turn up.

It is not important that the coach do this, his attendance is completely irrelevant to whether subi win or not.

I thought BC's suggestions were intelligent, considered and balanced.

Whereas, in contrast, yours are ......... let's not sugar coat it .......... the ramblings of an obsessed plonker.
