The game was very fast and furious and I thought we might run out of legs towards the end given they had 15 full time pros on the park but to our boys credit they were still going strong at the end. The sheer gut running of Kitch, Horse, Gus Litherland, Kennedy and big Sutherland was still putting in the hard yards in the last quarter even though he was up against 2 bigger bodies in Jones and Meek. It was a very, very impressive performance by Subi.

The gap between Subiaco and the rest has been closed a little bit from last year BC but not enough for you guys to start getting worried about being beaten in September. I thought that after last year there may be a motivational or complacency issue after having achieved the ultimate of an unbeaten season in 2018 however this appears not to be the case as the guys you mentioned still appear hungry for more success. There is obviously an outstanding team ethic down at Subiaco that other WAFL clubs can only dream about.

We we've been a bit sporadic and inconsistent Mike and struggled to get over you guys and WCE and obviously beaten by SF. What I saw on Sunday was very much back to our best last year but the challenge now is to keep performing at that level. We've got a very strong core group of leaders who push everyone else from within the playing group plus the fact our guys are a mature bunch when compare to other teams like yours and EF. Our youngest player on Sunday was Michael Braut who is 21 but he was surrounded in the backline by the likes of Lockyer, Litherland, Harry Marsh all of which have AFL experience and Haydn Kennedy and Aaron Heal...both state players. I'd like to see a few younger blokes come through as the likes of Wheeler, Horsley and co aren't getting any younger....but as you say, the gap is narrowing but think we'll be thereabouts again at the pointy end.

Listening to the 3/4 time address I think there is a deep hatred towards freo and the way they do things so I would say there would be no trouble mentally getting up when we play them, we will see if we can keep that form going as you said...
