Well said Preacher, there would be plenty going on behind the scenes trying to get this individual out of Loonyland, these sorts of negotiations never play out in public so a bit silly to expect the pollies to be giving much away as it may affect negotiations

As for ScoMo praying, he is a devout christian and that is a natural thing to do. I'm not but his right to do what he does, which unlike a certain rugby player does not affect anyone else. I'm pleased that so far his faith has not encroached on his day job, as soon as it does he will lose me and a significant proportion of the electorate. Could be worse we could have had a loony left dodgy former union boss who's main aim was to bring down anyone who has worked their arse off to build some wealth and give it to no-hopers and tree huggers.

The Preacher wrote: It always amazes me the individuals ignore all logic and travel to countries like North Korea in spite of all the advice from government and
readily available sources.

A country whose government is controlled by an utter madman who is prepared to massacre millions of their own people in their own country and
hundreds of their own citizens abroad.

We then expect our government to pick up the pieces.

Having said all the above I hope and pray that he is OK and our government can bring him home safely.

I also am thankful that we may get some sense of balance with our re-elected government and PM in the debate around political correctness
Gender Identity and Renewable Energy. These areas have been controlled by the Loony left for too long and the
"silent majority" need to be able to be heard!

Great post, you said it all Preacher.

Well Preacher, it seems you are preaching from the wrong scripture when it comes to renewables.

The annual Lowy Institute Poll on Australian attitudes to the world and global issues for 2018 has been released. Among a series of interesting findings, one thing is clear: support for climate action and renewable energy continue to grow.

In response to the survey’s questions on climate and energy, 59% of respondents agreed with the statement: “climate change is a serious and pressing problem. We should begin taking steps now even if this involves significant costs.”........

......What’s more, while the federal government doggedly pursues a “technology-neutral” energy policy, Australians don’t seem to be buying it. Public support for a large-scale energy transition in Australia is even more emphatic than support for climate action.

According to the Lowy poll, which involved a nationally representative sample of 1,200 adults, 84% of Australians support the statement that “the government should focus on renewables, even if this means we may need to invest more in infrastructure to make the system more reliable”.

The "silent majority" you preach would seem to be a very noisy minority.

Are the 84% all "loony left"?

My prayers were answered when Australia voted at the recent election. We dodged a nuclear warhead. The fallout could have been catastrophic.

And yet that utter despotic egotistical madman who rules his country with an iron fist whilst banning any media criticism and glorifying himself with military parades was recently photographed shaking hands with the President of the United States of America..... Hang on a minute who was it ?

You seem to suggest jack that Australia is doing nothing I this space. I note that none of the respondents according to your post suggested we weren't doing enough...more so we should be addressing the problem which we are. As long as we meet the Paris Accord then I think we're on track given we represent less than 1% of emissions globally...don't you?

The good Reverend suggested that the question of renewable energy has been/is controlled by the "loony left".

My point was that 84% can't all be loony left - it must include a fair dose of central , and even some sensible right.

As for "our share" - no, I believe Australia could be doing a lot more.

It is also highly unlikely it will meet its Paris commitments on current trends, and certainly not if Morrison stays captive of the Queensland nutters.

Apparently the Swedish team secured his release from detention sometime this morning. The fellow is safe and has departed North Korea. Currently in China from reports.
