If they had an archive section where I could read the old WAFL stories from the past i would sign up. For example, the 'economist' has a good archive section.

Not sure what you are on about STT but I want to give John Townsend and co a blast. Your DELIBERATE action to NOT update this weeks WAFL stories in the West app while at the same time publishing regional football stories and keeping AFL stories up to date is a deliberate slap in the face towards diehard WAFL supoorters and all I can say is you have lost any goodwill you might have had and can go and get stuffed. Enjoy your loss in revenue you will get what you deserve.

BC I reckon JT and others have made an executive decision that us WAFL tragics will succumb and subscribe if they starve us of free access to WAFL coverage. What they will find is it will have the opposite effect. I used to post links on a regular basis to The West on WAFL news so that helps take viewers to The West and they get their revenue from people viewing their site. That audience will have dropped dramatically already which means less viewers and clickers to brag to their paid advertisers. They have chosen to isolate us. They have made their bed now they can lay in it.

I would think these decisions are made a lot higher up the totem pole, and way above JT's pay grade.

DD: correct -- it is rare that I have seen either versions of that paper in the last fifteen to twenty years, but where I have, it is because of stories posted on here.

BREAKING NEWS: The West app is providing full access to all subscriber news for “free” up until the 16th of July. So take advantage of this “Free” privilege and download it onto your phone or iPad so The West can see how many readers they are missing out on and denying by insisting on a dollar a day fee access to their online paper.
