Hopefully Fremantle and our coach gets something out of the skills clinic they are involved in with Hawthorn in Tasmania. Fkn embarrassing.

Just saw Ross Lyon's interview and I thought he absolutely nailed one point. Every time I watch Freo I am always disappointed how we don't let opposition know they have to earn their kicks. Players at all levels have a duty to protect oppositions head, neck and testicles. But other than those 3 body parts at this level everytime an opponent goes at the ball they should be roughed up as much as possible. Freo are far too nice as a team and I was please to hear Ross say the same. Now they have to address it.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

TFAF, I think he has just condemned himself to hopefully being given the flick by Fremantle at the end of 2020 or hopefully sooner. The fact that Freo are too nice or soft on their opponents according to him is a total indictment of his coaching of a team which he has been with for 7 years. Sorry Ross the buck stops with you.

I spotted this opinion piece on the AFL website this morning which I think nailed Fremantles current situation

What happened to Fremantle?, they were looking really good after defeating Port Adelaide but have fallen away. They have lost key players in Matt Taberner, Alex Pearce and Jesse Hogan to injuries, did that hurt them?. Is the inexperience of their side starting to show? or is it another reason entirely?

Kane Cornes said Fremantle are the second worst side in the competition at the moment, Caroline Wilson said Fremantle are not AFL standard, are they right?.

They lost to bottom 4 teams in Melbourne, Gold Coast and Carlton but were able to beat top teams in GWS, Collingwwood and Brisbane.

Fremantle's skill levels are deplorable. Turnovers, easy missed shots on goals, inside forward 50 structure and scoring efficiency and the inability to hit targets have plagued Fremantle this season. These same problems cost Fremantle the 2013 Grand Final and played a huge role in being knocked out in the 2014 and 2015 finals. The fact Fremantle have not addressed these problems and not improved their skills and efficiency is a big concern.

West Australian reporter Mark Duffield said West Coast practice their skills like their lives depend on it while Fremantle focus on heavily on structure. Clearly given the ladder positions, West Coast are doing it right. Structure is important but if a team cannot execute their skills then there is no point of structure.

If Freo ever want to be a premiership contender then they must focus on improving their skills and efficiency because right now, their skills and efficiency are deplorable.

This all comes back to the training and coaching being totally deficient. As for the Fremantle captain complaining about Hawthorn players deliberately targeting his injured shoulder, well thats just laughable isnt it.?

When I played we were told to knock where the bandages were.. If my right hand was sore then they taped my left hand.
It's not rocket science. Just aim for the tape/bandages..
