Another stress fracture in the same foot that caused him to miss most of last season so that is a major worry for Tabs. At the risk of sounding a bit cold I can see a silver lining here. it will make selection easier for Ross Lyon and I think Jesse Hogan has kind of played second fiddle to Taberner at times and it has perhaps created some confusion in the minds of the midfield when looking up into the forward half for a target. It might just open us up a bit and be a more open more mobile forward line which I think will suit the likes of Hogan and McCarthy and if Darcy can get fit It will make it easier for Ross Lyon to send Lobb forward.

Is there a sudden boycott on the Fremantle board or just genuine lack of AFL interest here?

I think its more to do with the disappearance of a few dyed in the wool Dockers ( Anchorman and JB) who were banned earlier in the year. I started a topic on last weeks game V Essendon which only attracted one comment.
I think the loss of Taberner may force Freo to use Hogan as a key forward. Perhaps they could even give Scott Jones a try in the ruck and drop Lobb down forward as well. Not sure how mobile Jones is

Mike Anchorman was constantly whinging about this site so not surprised admin got rid of him. I think he got the flick for showing a lack of respect and JB was not a frequent contributor and also stuck it up the nose of OFA by the looks of it. Peter North was another one who constantly bitched about anyone who had anything critical to say about Fremantle, was made a moderator I observed but obviously still wasn't happy. Does Ozfooty need these people who don't respect the administrator, the site and those that use it?

I couldn't give a stuff about those three. Anyway the Eagles thread has always been considerably quieter. Incredible really to think how many follow these two sides yet rarely post here but if you listen to 6PR that's all they go on about when callers ring in. Maybe that's the reason, there is so much press on the two AFL clubs people don't feel the need to discuss it?

Anyway back on topic, then there is Cox and McCarthy. The dilemma is you can't have too many talls up forward. What is worrying me is Ross Lyon has all these weapons at his disposal yet he doesn't seem to know how to best use them and produce an effective forward line. I am definitely running out of faith and patience with RL, I don't see the young midfielders developing like they should, I am seeing a lack of cohesian and confidence.

I got a feeling they will get up for this game against Brisbane because of what Lachie Neale has had to say since defecting to Brisbane but that will only wallpaper over the cracks IMO.

If they lose to Brisbane tomorrow that will be 4 straight losses and the rumble of discontent will become stronger. Lyon is treading a fine line and they will need to implement a more attacking game plan if they hope to beat the Lions. I hope the Dockers supporters don't boo Neale as he gave a lot of wholehearted effort for the club while he was there

I guess your site is becoming like the Eagles. I post from time to time and there is little activity, but it doesn’t worry me.
Back to Freo and will they boo Neale? After reading the article on Perth Now about him leaving, I think they will. I guess it’s in the DNA of some people regardless of who they follow.

Lachie deserves everything he's got coming his way today. He turned his back on us and thrown a few insults our way. I don't know why he is complaining about being misinterpreted suggesting Fremantle is a one man band and Brisbane will win a flag before Freo. They are major insults thrown towards his former club. I don't recall any Freo recruits in the last few years throwing insults towards their former club. As the DJ on 8 Mile would say, "Let this fucker feel it".

I went to the game yesterday and saw first hand what Taberner brings to the team structure. His big work ethic gives the forward line structure and a target for the ball carrier going into the front half. Freo's forward line was a shambles yesterday with the ball being bombed in time after time because the likes of Cox and Hogan aren't presenting enough. I saw several occasions where the ball was kicked in the air to Matera who was soundly beaten and rightly so because of his size due to the fact the mids had no other option. The sooner Lobb goes forward on a permanent basis the better because at the moment we've got Hogan who is trying hard but attracting the best one or two opposition defenders and Cox who sleeps with the light on and just doesn't make a physical contest. He took a couple of contested marks which was encouraging but just doesn't work hard enough or hit the ball with vigour. Freo also needs another inside mid since Neale's departure as it's all up to Fyfe and Mundy at the moment. Very short sighted delisting Deluca at 20 years of age as it looks like he's going to get picked up by Carlton tonight with the first mid-season draft pick. DeBoer would have been handy too but that's Freo's list management in a nutshell. There were some goods signs as Luke Ryan continues to impress, Hamlin, Pearce were good and Blakely working his way into it. Once again disposal by foot left a bit to be desired across the entire team including Fyfe who mongreled quite a few yesterday but at least they're getting hands on the pill I guess....oh...and I forgot to mention Brad Hill...his run and carry and breaking lines was elite.

Significant Swan Districts influence in the Brisbane/Dockers game with Cameron, Neale, Walters, Lobb and Hughes all former Swans players.
