If Round 7 (103-102) is anything to go by, this should be a ding-dong battle, Southerner.
I'm just hoping the result is reversed tomorrow!
There's nothing worse than losing a close one.
I notice this season that South has played in five games decided by a goal or less, winning three of them.

devastating third quarter blitz got this one done - that after a spraygun first quarter & bit of a loose second to begin the match.
It was a danger game , glad to take the four points & keep well clear of the jam around 4th to 7th spots
East Perth went ok early too it was hard work at times

Your too generous Southerner, that 3/4 was as bad as I have ever seen from a Royals side. The club is not sustainable with this type of football.

South played a good third quarter but east perth played into their hands by chipping around the backline and too much handball which eventually ended up in goals.unsustainable when you don't have good skills.

Your delusional chaddy. you got smashed in the 3rd qtr and could have been worse. We kicked 8.6 and should have been 12.2. Your defence was deplorable. You played one good qtr the second the rest you were totally outplayed.

Agree with you there, chaddy, South blitzed us in the third quarter after we'd played a very good second term.
At quarter-time, Jeremy Barnard said the ratio of handballs to kicks was too close to 1:1 for his liking.
Obviously the players don't have a calculator tucked into their socks, but they were far more direct in the second quarter and moved the ball fluently and it paid dividends.
Whether the boys relaxed subconsciously after half'-time or, more likely, the Bulldogs lifted, but our bad habits quickly returned.
I'm no footy coach, but with every extra disposal a team has in a chain they're one step closer to a turnover.
So, it's far better to make that turnover at half-forward than half-back, which we did countless times today due to endless "nothing possessions".
We were thrashed in the clearances and stoppages with the likes of Haiden Schloithe able to do what they liked.
Hopefully we can pick up a couple of big-bodied midfielders (185-190cm, 85kg) in the off-season.

Not really mate I thought East Perth were up & about particularly in the second quarter - it forced that type of footy to break it apart

You're not wrong, SD351, a midfield Mitch Dobson to go with the forward version would be very handy indeed.
I thought Dobbo was set for a big day after his two early goals, but it wasn't to be.
Still, he's always good for a few highlights every match during this rebuilding year.
South has long had that ability to blast a team off the park in one quarter (much like our teams under Tony Micale Mark I), but our non-response in the third term was very disappointing.
There was no greater example than when Dylan Main charged through a couple of "modest" tackles at the centre bounce to kick a running goal from outside 50, making it two Bulldogs' goals in less than a minute.
