One Nation Chief of Staff James Ashby and his sidekick Steve Dickson caught out in a sting that exposed them setting up a meeting with powerful US gun lobby thinking they could get their hands on 10 to 20 million with a promise to water down our tough gun laws so their party could use the funds to gain power. And this Muppet James Ashby comes out saying they were on the sauce and is calling for ASIO to investigate political interference.

You just can't make this shit up. How in the hell do we end up with Muppets like this and Fraser Anning in our political landscape? There has to be something seriously wrong with our voting system that allows these creeps to have a voice. If there is to be any investigation it needs to be into whether Pauline Hanson knew about this and approved of her chief of staff setting up this meeting.

On ABC News they showed Pauline Hanson voting for banning political donations from outside Australia which raises serious questions about her judgement. She's got a history of falling out with her closest aides and representatives.

Yep, but to honest this whole thing could actually get them more votes, a lot of One Nation types will be pro gun and pro NRA, so seeing this will delight them.

Well if you are correct (and you are rarely wrong) then it is a pretty sad indictment on us as a nation. I will have to beg to differ though, I actually think this will cost them votes.

Well now Pauline Hanson caught out in the same sting by Al Jazeera suggesting a conspiracy behind the Port Arthur massacre and referring to those conspiracy believers behind 9/11. Yes I'm one of those who says good onya Pauline, saying the things most Australians say but the mainstream parties won't dare say because it's not politically correct or fear of offending some people.

But this is just going too far, especially in light of the appalling Christchurch massacre and what leadership has Pauline Hanson shown in the aftermath of that tragic event? Any sensible human being, even if you don't agree with Muslim migration into Australia or NZ, cannot possibly condone the actions of the shooter.

I think these rednecks in politics are becoming a distraction from the things we should be talking about. On a side note, I heard on 6PR yesterday a caller say when John Howard brought in tough new gun laws, that NZ chose NOT TO implement those same laws. Fair to say a massacre on this scale would not have occurred if semi automatics were not available.

True Ark but an event like that in a tranquil place like Port Arthur should have rung alarm bells in NZ and the "Australian" was living in NZ and that's where he was able to buy his arsenal of weapons. And our gun laws here are probably the reason he didn't carry it out here.

The middle ground swinging voters might drift away . but the hard core ON voters will double down.

That was before the video came out of Hanson claiming Port Arthur was a conspiracy , on top of the Hanson has been unseen since all this blew up...

So I'm thinking adding all that in now, they are in a fair bit of strife.

Agree DD, I was astounded that NZ had such poor laws, even before Port Arthur , WA had a far better regime than NZ, in WA we always required every firearm to be registered and recorded alongside the licence holder, NZ didn't even have that.

Think with such a small population and being tucked away in the deep south, many Kiwi's and others just assumed who would be bothered causing such an atrocity here.....sadly their gun laws reflected this naivety.....gonna all change now....but sadly the horse has bolted....can't believe the owner of Gun City who sold the fella the guns and ammunition, refused to close his chain of shops over the weekend post shootings...whilst not his fault, but surely out of a mark of respect you would close your doors for a day or two.....but hey business is business.....
