This is the worst batting line up I have seen from Soth Africa, Amla is passed his best, and the captain has only been a good player at best over the years.

In terms of those sides whom have under perfrmed over the years, we must remember that the WI have actually won bugger all since 1980.

Never any half measures with Pakistan. They are either world beaters or dreadful and last nights performance was the latter. A limp display against the short balls that the Windies bowlers were testing them with. They may take solace from the fact that in their World cup win in 1992, they got flogged in the first game of that tournament, by the West Indies.

Have to go back and check mate, though I still think whenever they came out to Australia for the Benson and Hedges tri series for the ODI's they seemed to make short work of winning them.

ool: yep, they certainly did win the ODI competitions fairly easily on most occasions, mainly because Richards tended to be at his best in one day cricket. However, after the mid 1980s, the Australian sides they faced were not that good. We over-achieved in 1987, but it was a good effort by the boys. The WI, on the other-hand failed to make the semi-finals in that year, definitely underachieving.

Just to clarify the situation with the WI in World Cup cricket, they have been unable to make the semi finals since 1983. In this sense, gtr, it will be a genuinely historical effort if they win it this time.

After a couple of games you could think at least 4 teams probably can't win .Afghanistan, Pakistan ,Sri Lanka and putting the mozz on South Africa.Have a great bowling attack but didn't like the way they played against the English spinners in game 1.
There's questions about the Windies fitness to get through the tournament.We will have a look at Bangladesh

Wouldnt write off South Africa GTR. Don't forget they lost to the favourites and its a long tournament. Pakistan are so unpredictable they may get on a run later so I wouldnt discount them either. Sri Lanka and Afghanistan may be in a wooden spoon battle. How far the Windies go will depend on their ability to keep their key players on the park. I notice that Dre Rus was hobbling around on Friday and Gayle nearly put his back out hitting a six.

Enjoyed the booing although I turned it off after Finch skied the ball to be caught as Warner was totally boring.
Finch got about 58 off about 48 & warner was not out on 24 off 46 or so... It was agony to watch him.
