Good to see something might happen at the Waca.If they want to renovate once every 3 decades.Why not spend double to 150 million and seat 20.000.To me a 10,000 seat renovation is not worth the effort.

I think the much smaller capacity is most of the point, a smaller facility, less upkeep costs, looks as if all the Prindiville stand will go and a much smaller stand built.

10k would allow for just about all WAFL games bar the GF, which is a pity, need at least 20k for that.

Yes agree a total waste of money. Lots of sporting organisations should be way ahead in the q for govt money. And thanks for shifting bbl to the stadium and wrecking it in the process morons.

Wonder if it would be worth ditching Leederville , moving Sub and East Perth to WACA, make it more viable all year round, they are going for a community based venue with cafes and markets etc, lets face it there wont be to many more shield cricket games or wafl games that will pull 10k or more.,

I'm not sure about Subi and East Perth but I reckon it would make sense to relocate at least one WAFL club to the WACA to utilise the facility during winter....if it was Subi and/or EP then I wouldn't have any problems with that as long as they received incentives to move there. It cost Subi around $2m to go to Leederville so reckon the club would want to recover that in some form plus get a facility equal or better than that they're moving from.
